Will of William McFaddin

 

In the name of God Amen I William McFaddin ofSumter District being sick and weak in body but of Sound and perfectmind and memory, do make & ordain this my last will &testament I commend my Spirit to God, my body, to be decently buriedat the discretion of my Executors, My worldly Estate to be divided asfollows, to wit. Item I give and bequeath unto John James McFaddin& Robert Silas McFaddin all the Lands I ownn on Douglas Swamp tobe equally divided between them & when divided that John JamesMcFaddin to have choice and all of my Lands lying on Black River toJoseph Sidney McFaddin. Item I give and bequeath unto William JayMcFaddin two Negroes named Marcus & Cuff. I also give to WilliamJay McFaddin my Virginues Filly. Item I give and bequeath unto JohnJames McFaddin the following named Negores. Viz. Leno, Pinkney,Cloey, Harry, Old Leno, Henry, Cyrus, & Cate, during his naturallife and to decend to his Children, provided he leaves any lawfulisue, Otherwise the above named Negores to Return to the Said JohnJames McFaddins nearest blood kin, Item. I give and bequeath toRobert Silas McFaddin my Dunn horse Item I give and bequeath untoJohn James McFaddin all my Stock of Horses, Cattle & Hogs,Togeather with, all my Plantation tools Waggon Household and kitchenfurniture also one other Negro named Amy, and all the Residue of myProperty not otherwise bequeathed. And the Said John James McFaddinis hereby to pay all my Just debts. And I do hereby appointConstitute and ordain my brother John J. McFaddin and John JamesMcFaddin my Executors to execute this my last will and testament andI do hereby utterly disallow and disannul all & every other will& testament by me hereto fore made.

Codicil to Will of William McFadden

This annesed Codicil to my last will and testamentis to explain my true intention in the bequeath of all my - landslaying on Pudding Swamp between John James McFaddin and Robert SilasMcFaddin. That is to say my will is that none of the buildings orother improvements Shall be included in the value of Said lands butthat the lands be equally divided and their value assertained extraof improvements and that John James McFaddin takes his choice.
