I Lansford C. Stafford of the District and State aforesaid do Make this my last Will and testament in Manner and form following (To Wit)---

I give devise and bequeath unto Anne Scurry during the term of her natural life all that plantation or tract of Land whereon She resides containing two hundred Acres More or lefs and after her death to be equaly divided between her four Children, David Scurry Elijah Scurry James F. Scurry & Scurry and also to the Said Anne Scurry in the like manner during her life and after her death to be equaly divided amongst her Children and my children (To Wit) David Scurry Elijah Scurry James F. Scurry & Scurry and Juliann Allen Mariam B Folsom and Placida Duncan all the Stock of Cattle on the Plantation where the Said Anne Scurry Now resides belonging to me---

Secondly I give device and bequeath all the rest and residue of my Estate both real and personal after the payment of my just debts to my three children (To wit) Juliann Allen Miriam Folsom and Plascadia Duncan (to be equally devided between them) during the term of there natural life and after there death to be equally divided between there children according to the Laws of Said State in cases of intestacy and it is my will that none of the above named property Shall be Subject to the debts or contracts of my said Children or there Husbands in any way it being my desire that the property given in this the Second Clause of my will comprising of the rest and residue of my Estate both real and personal Consisting of three Negroes and all my Lands (excepting) the Land given to Anne Scurry and her children) to be for the Sole and Seperate use of my said three Children during the term of there natural life and after there death as above directed and not to be in any wise liable for any debts or contract now in existance or here after created by them or there Husbands Lastly I nominate and appoint Benjaman Folsom and Thomas Clerry executors of this my last will and testament Witnefs my hand and Seal this ninth day of November 1842
