In the Name of God Amen I Hannah White formerly ofGeorgetown District but now of Sumter District South Carolina beingof sound and disposing mind and memory do this Thirtieth day ofNovember in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred andthirty and in the fifty fifth year of American Independence make thismy last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is toSay-----

First I will that all my just debts and funeralexpenses e fully paid and satisfied as soon as may b e after mydecease by my Executors herein after named-----

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Dearlybeloved Daughter Lydia Dozier my Negro girl slave named Sarahtogether with her future issue to her my said Daughter Lydia and herheirs forever

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Dearlybeloved Son Leonard White my three Negro slaves named Scipio, Scesar,and Ned to him my said Son Leonard and his heirs forever-----

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my SonLeonard White his heirs, executors, Administrators in Trust, for mybeloved Daughter Elizabeth Mouzon my four Negro slaves named Binah,Betsy, Judy, and Sylvia together with their future increase for hermy said Daughter Elizabeth Mouzon's use, profit and benefit duringher, my said Daughter Elizabeth Mouzon's natural life, and at herdeath to the Child or children of my said Daughter Elizabeth Mouzonwho may survive her to them and their heirs forever-----

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my belovedSon William White my three Negro slaves named Baccus, Kate, and Samto him my said Son William and his heirs forever-----

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my belovedGrand Sons James S. and Thomas Morritt Dick the sum of Five Dollarseach, if demanded to them and their heirs forever-----

Item It is my will and desire that the surplus ofmy Estate (Should there be any) which is not already willed beapplied to the payment of my aforesaid just debts and should that notbe sufficient then it is my will and desire that my Executors hereinafter named retain on hire, or hire out, my following Negro

Slaves namely Sarah, Binah, Betsy, Judy, andSylvia until my just debts be fully paid, after which it is my willand desire that my Negro slave named Sarah, be given to my DaughterLydia Dozier as here of before stated and that my Negro slaves Binah,Betsey, Judy, and Sylvia be then delivered to my Son Leonard White inTrust for my Daughter Elizabeth Mouzon as afore stated and to accountto my said Daughter Elizabeth Mouzon annually for the net hire ofsaid Negroes, Binah, Betsy, Judy, and Sylvia so long as she myDaughter Elizabeth Mouzon shall live and immediately after her mysaid Daughter Elizabeth Mouzon's death He my said Son Leonard shallhave the said Negroes named Binah, Betsy, Judy, and Sylvia, togetherwith their future increase divided between the surviving children ofmy said Daughter Elizabeth Mouzon or the descendants of such as mayhave died, share and share alike, that is the descendants of such asmay be dead to take the part which their parents would have taken ifalive-----

And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute anappoint my Son Leonard White Executor to this my last will andTestament hereby revoking all former and other wills by me at anytime heretofore made declaring this and this only to be my last Willand Testament&emdash;In witness whereof I the said Hannah White tothis my last will and Testament contained on three sides of one sheetof paper hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first abovewritten
