Will of John Williams

In the Name of God Amen -- I John Williams of Clarendon County Sumter District, and State of South Carolina Planter, being in Feeble Health but of Sound mind do make this my last will and Testament in Manner and form as follows
1st It my wish that all my just debts be paid
2nd that my Body be Burried with appropriate expence
3rd It is my wish thta all the rsidue of my Property be Kept together for the joint benefit of My wife and Daughter during the term of their Natural lives and afte the death of both my wife and Daughter to go to the isue of my Daughter Mary Ann Williams but if it so happen that my daughter should die leaving no child then it is my wish that my property should be given to the poor of Clarendon county. I hereby nominate my Friend and neighbor W.D. Reynolds Executor of this my last will and Testament. In witnefs I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of March Eighteen hundred and Fifty three in the Presence of Witnesses
