In the Name of God Amen
I Benjamin Windom of Sumter District, and State aforesaid Being old and Stricken in years, but of Sound mind & memory thanks be to God for the Same, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Die, do make and ordain this mv Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to Say First of All, I give and bequeath my Soul to the almighty who gave it me, in Sure Hopes of Receiving the Same again at the Day of Resurrection and my Body I commit to the Earth from whence it Came to be buried in a Decent Christian like manner by my Executors, hereafter named and as to Such Worldly goods as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life, I dispose of in the following manner
Imprimis, I Give and bequeath to my Son Charles Windom all the Lands which I am possessed of on Intitled to, also my wearing apparel and my Working Tools of every Description to him and his heirs forever, The Rest and Residue of my Property I Desire may be Equally Divided between my Daughters, Silvia Hodge and Lucey Norton, Share and Share alike, to them and their Heirs forever--- Lastly I nominate and appoint my Son Charles Windom and my Son-in-law James Norton, Executors, to this my Last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and Seal this Sixth day of June In the year of our Lord 1818, and of the forty Second year of American Independence ----------------------------
