Sumter District ) I JohnM. Witherspoon of the State & District aforeSaid do make this myLast will & Testament in Manner and form following (Viz) &endash;

Item 1st- My Son James McBride has received hisfull portion of my personal estate. Except a bond of his which I holdfor eight hundred Dollars dated the Twelfth Day of February 1838.Which bond is to be delivered to him by my Executors after mydecease

Item 2nd- I give and bequeath unto my Son RobertAddison the following Negroes (Viz) Peter, Lymus, Lydia, AmarinthaMary Ann, Peggy, Nancy, Tom, Maky, and eight hundred Dollars inNegroes or Money at discretion of my Executors &endash;

Item 3rd- I give and bequeath unto my DaughterSarah McFaddin the following Negroes (Viz) Jinny: Sabina, Willy,Auman, Stephen & Eliza with their future increase to her and theheirs of her body, should She die without leaving Such heirs theproperty to be equally divided among or between my SurvivingDaughters &endash;

Item 4th- I give and bequeath unto my DaughterJannet Burgess the following Negroes (Viz) Dauphney- Jimcy- Venus& Harry with their future increase, to her and the heirs of herbody, Should

She die without leaving Such heirs the propertyto be equally divided between my Surviving Daughters.

Item 5th- I give and bequeath unto my DaughterJulea Ann a Negro girl named Nancy & Child Cate with her futureincrease to her and the heirs of her Body Should She die withoutleaving Such heirs the property to be equally divided between mySurviving Daughters &endash;

Item 6th- I give and bequeath unto my DaughterEllen Isabella a Negro girl named Jincy with her future increase, toher and the heirs of her body, Should she die without leaving Suchheirs the property to be equally divided between my SurvivingDaughters &endash;

Item 7th- It is my will that the whole of theresidue of my personal estate not otherwise disposed of. Be put intoSeven equal lotts and That my Wife Isabella be entitled to the oneSeventh part in Lieu of Dower during her natural life and at herdeath to be equally divided between her Children by Hammet and herChildren by myself

otherwise disposed of

Lastly It is my Will that the whole of my realestate be equally divided between my four Sons. And I do herebyappoint my sons James McBride, Robert, Addison, Samuel Willison andJoseph Laurence Executors to this my will. In witness whereof I havehereunto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of September in the yearof our Lord one thousand eight hundred & forty and of theindependence of the United States of America the Sixty fifth &endash;
