The Last Will and Testament of Oliver E. Hodge

 

The State of South Carolina:

 

                                                In the name of God Amen.  I Oliver E. Hodge of Privateer Township of the County of Sumter and State of South Carolina do make, Constitute and Ordain the following to be my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills and Testaments made by me.

 

First I direct that my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid and discharged.

 

Second I give and decree unto Hattie A. Tisdale wife of my nephew James G. Tisdale, and Hester Ann Hodge wife of my brother Mayjoy Hodge all my Real Estate, consisting of about one hundred and fifty acres and the buildings there on in said Township, County and State, to be equally divided between them according to valuation to them for life and to their children after them and the heirs and assigns of the Children forever, on condition here to fore that they shall take good care of my sister Mary Ann Hodge should she out live me, and allow her to live with them until her death and then give her a decent burial.

 

Third I herby nominate constitute and appoint D. A????? ???? and ???? ???? Executors of this my last Will and Testament with full and ample power to call in three disinterested persons and a surveyor if necessary and to divide out the lands between said Hattie A. Tisdale and Hester Ann Hodge and their respective children subject however to the conditions of the second clause of this my last Will and Testament.  In witness hereof I have set my hand and seal this 13th day of May AD Eighteen Hundred and Ninety Five.
