Last Will and Testament of Ozias Mathis

                                    In the name of God Amen.  I Ozias Mathis now living in Clarendon District being of sound mind and memory but mindful that I have to die do make the following disposition of my property as per my last will and Testament.  1st I desire all my just debts paid.  2nd During the lifetime of my wife Eliza the whole of my property – Real and personal is for her support and maintenance and to support our adopted child William Pinckney Mathis.  3rd After the decease of my wife Eliza I give bequeath and devise all my property Real and personal to the said William Pinckney Mathis upon his Marrying or arriving at Twenty One Years of Age and if he fulfill neither of these Conditions but dies unmarried and under age then I give bequeath and devise my said property to Mrs. Maria Mathis, the mother of said William Pinckney Mathis and her heirs forever.  In testament where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal first declaring this to be my last will and testament in the presence of the witnesses hereto this 14th day of September AD 1861.
