Surnames: McALLISTER, TODD, ERSKINE, RICHARDS, STEELE, SANDERS, MUNDAY, HAMMOND, WALKER, COLSTON, GRAY.

William B. McAllister, b December 4, 1825 in South Carolina, d November 3, 1894 at Stranger and buried in the Stranger Cemetery, Falls County, Texas -- was a son of William McAllister, b 1797 in South Carolina, and his wife, Margarette P (Todd) McAllister.
In 1853 in South Carolina, William B. McAllister was married to Mary Erskine, b December 16, 1824 in South Carolina, d August 22, 1894 at Stranger and buried in Stranger Cemetery, Galls County, Texas -- a daughter of Hugh and Jane (Richards) Erskine, who also came to Falls County in December 1853.
William B. McAllister was apprenticed to the carriage-making trade in 1845, at which he worked until 1848.  After his marriage, the McAllisters and a large delegation of relatives -- including Erskines, the Henry Steele family, and Todds -- immigrated to Falls County, Texas, where they settled on Blue Ridge (present-day Stranger).
A new Presbyterian Church was organized at Blue Ridge (present-day Stranger) on December 3, 1854, and William B. McAllister served as Elder -- having been ordained previously.  The first Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the community was organized by Reverend Reuben Sanders in August 1848, while the area was still a part of Limestone County, Texas.
William B. McAllister set up a Blacksmith Shop at Stranger, and later purchased six hundred and twenty-five acres of land in the vicinity.  He and Mary were the parents of seven children -- all born in Falls County, Texas:
Margarette McAllister, who married Z. T. Todd of Falls County.
Elizabeth A. McAllister, who married J. H. Munday.
Mary Ann McAllister, who married Thomas Hammond.
Hugh W. McAllister, who moved to Indian Territory in Oklahoma.
William J. McAllister, who married Nancy Gray.
Robert A. McAllister, who married April 25, 1895 in the Fairview Presbyterian Church to Mattie Colston.
William B. Mc Allister was a Mason.  He served the Presbyterian Church at Blue Ridge (Stranger) until it moved its congregation to Fairview, at which time he transferred his membership to Koose, where he was both and Elder and Clerk of the Church.
