Larkin R. Rogers, b ca 1807 in Tennessee, d 1882 at Stranger, Falls County, Texas - married February 14, 1825 in Morgan County, Alabama to Mary A. Aycock, b ca 1809 in Wilkes County, Georgia, d October 9, 1875 at Stranger - a daughter of Henry Aycock and Mildred (Stovall) Aycock.      Larkin and Mary (Aycock) Rogers had seven children born in Alabama before the family relocated in 1845 in east Falls County, Texas on Blue Ridge (present-day Stranger). Larkin purchased land in the Alexander Whitaker Survey, located at the present intersection of State Highway 7 and Farm to Market Road # 1771 to Stranger, Texas.

The Rogers were of the Presbyterian faith, and it was in their that the first church meetings were held. Although no records have been found, he probably was a charter member of the Blue Ridge Union Church, established in August 1848 by Reverend Reuben Sanders while Blue Ridge (now Stranger) was still part of Limestone County, Texas. The Blue Ridge Union Church was a Cumberland Presbyterian Church, built on land owned by Thomas McKissick Garrett by 1851, which permitted services of other church denominations.

When Falls County was organized in 1850, Larkin Rogers of Blue Ridge (and later called Stranger) was selected to choose a site in Marlin, the county seat of the new county, for a Presbyterian Church. In addition, Larkin, and later his descendants, were active participants in the early development of Falls County's government, roads, schools, and churches. Some of his descendants have placed grave markers in the Stranger Cemetery where the graves of Larkin and Mary were known to be located, and identified by other early settlers.
