The Flournoy Cemetery is located off County Road 284 in Jackson County. It was part of the San Pierre land parcel. It is on a 1.9747 acre tract, referred to in the Jackson County Court House V319 p. 173 on April 13, 1960.

Archibald Skaggs Flournoy was born in Kentucky, August 31, 1822. The first records obtained were of his marriage to Cynthia Elizabeth Wilkerson in Guadalupe County in Texas on March 14, 1857. They had four children, William James (1857 - 1936), Richard Austin (December 5, 1858 - September 1, 1943), Celestia Elizabeth 1860 - 1939), and Robert E. (1861 - 1936).

In a newspaper article in the Edna Herald on January 20, 1927, entitled "Birthday for Grandma Flournoy," written by her son, Robert E. Flournoy states, "Father and Mother then after their marriage, moved to Victoria County, and then in the fall to the town of Brazoria. Father went into the retail store and in March 1862, volunteered and joined Col. Bates' regiment at the mouth of the Brazos and served until the close of the war in 1865. In 1866, he went to farming in that county. In 1875 he and his family came to Jackson County and after renting for four years bought our present home in which we have lived for fifty years."

The first grave in the Flounoy Cemetery is Archibald and Cynthia's son, William who was unmarried and died October 8, 1885 and was twenty-eight years old. The second grave was Archibald Skaggs Flournoy who died August 9, 1897.

Robert E. Flournoy inherited the farm which was part of the San Pierre land parcel. It is a few miles from Morales in Jackson County on the east side of the Navidad River. He was Justice of the Peace of his precinct for about 25 to 30 years.

Daisy and Robert Flournoy continued the Flournoy Cemetery located on their farm and both are buried there along with other of their descendants.

The cemetery at the present time, October 1, 2000, has 56 graves.
