J. S. Abercrombie Mineral Company Oil Well Pumping Rig

James G. Stone Sr. donated the rig to Matagorda County Commissioner, A. W. Hurta.
The pumping rig had been placed on an oil well in 1920 in a field known as Clemville.
Pappy later purchased this field and donated the antique pumping rig as a reminder of
the county’s oil production of the early years of this century.
