Son of Samuel Edward Axson (1779 - 1817) and Sarah Ann Palmer Axson (1785 - 1837)
Siblings: Ernest Cornell, Paul Fisher, Lewis, Mary Louisa, Clinton J., B. Palmer

Wife: Laura Lewis Axson (Aug 5, 1823 Ohio? - Nov 21, 1876 New Orleans, LA) married May 19/20, 1845 in Matagorda. Laura was the daughter of Ira Randolph Lewis (1800 - 1867) and Elizabeth Julia "Eliza" Hunt (1802 - 1887)

Dr. Axson arrived in New Orleans on July 12, 1838 and left sometime during the same year.

He and Laura married on 19/20 May, 1845 and they were living in New Orleans at the time of the 1850 census.

At Matagorda Drs. H. H. Dexter, A. M. Levy, A. B. Hannum, A. F. Axson and T. S. Waddell published a schedule of charges for their community. Day visits were$5, consultations were $15, bleeding $2, Cupping $5. Labor cases were $30. The notice concluded with the statement that immediately on the termination of the case settlement will be required.
