Alma Moorman Coppock
(July 23, 1914 - September 15, 2005)

Dear Friends and Relatives,

Our beloved mother, Alma Moorman Coppock, passed from this life to be with our Heavenly Father and others who have gone before at 4:00 AM on September, 15, 2005.

Mother was born in an East Texas oil town, Votaw, Texas, on July 23, 1914. Early on, her family moved to Daisetta, Texas, where her father worked for the remainder of his life. Her mother was Rachel Melinda Moorman, a wonderful, kind and gentle soul. Her father was Bob Moorman. She attended Hull-Daisetta school. She said she was lucky to be Valedictorian of her senior class. Her cousin, Yvonne Maynard, attended school with her and both were extremely bright and competitive.

Mother married Chris Vanya in 1934 and her son, Michael, is the sole issue of that marriage. Mother married in June, 1940, to Dr. Vernon H. Fricke and their daughter, Patricia, was born in January, 1942. She and Vernon lived together in Bay City until his death in June, 1965. They sent their children to the University of Texas. Mother later married Robert Coppock whom we adored. He took Mother all over the world.

She was active in many civic and social organizations. In 1967, she became a realtor. She then passed the State Board of Insurance without ever having worked in insurance.

Our mother was a unique, one-of-a-kind lady. She was extremely intelligent. She loved people and she let it show. We request that you remember her well, there will never be another.

Mother was the eldest of five children. Her siblings were Robert Onnie Moorman, Athie Moorman White, Lonnie Moorman, and William Watt Moorman. All are deceased.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ewell of Webster, and son, Judge Michael Moorman Fricke and his wife, Anita, of Port Lavaca, Texas. She is also survived by one grandson, Jason Ewell and wife, Ann, of Katy, Texas and three granddaughters; Mary Fricke of Alvin, Texas; Lisa Berger and husband, James Berger of New Albany, Ohio; and Laura Grundhoefer and husband James of San Antonio., Texas.
