DEATH OF DR. A. B. HANNUM

Was a Pioneer of Texas and Told Harrowing Tales

Dr. A. B. Hannum, aged 89 years, and one of the best known and most highly respected men in the county, died last night at Hines. Dr. Hannum was a native of Kentucky but went to Texas as a young man and lived in Western Texas when it was overrun with Indians and greasers. He was in a number of Indian fights and recalled the early characters of Texas with whom he was associated, many of whom help to make the history of that State. Dr. Hannum was a fluent talker and was well informed on the early history of the South. He came from Alabama from Texas many years ago to join relatives here.
