Alexander Hamilton Wiley was born 1832 in Cocke County, Tennessee and died May 29, 1904 in Matagorda County. He was interred in Hawley Cemetery. Alexander was the son of Elijah Wiley and Ann Burdine Waddell Wiley.
Alexander served in the Confederate
Army in Capt. A. J. Scarborough's Cavalry Company (Davis Guard) 4th
Regiment Texas Cavalry. The 4th Regiment Texas Cavalry was organized
about October 1861, with ten companies A to K. It was also known as the
1st Regiment, Sibley's Brigade Texas Mounted Volunteers, and as the 4th
Regiment Texas Mounted Volunteers. The company subsequently became
Company H, 4th Regiment Texas Cavalry. Alexander married Delilah Ellen Lucritia Rible (October 8, 1844 - c1896) on December 7, 1867 in Clinton, DeWitt County, Texas. The Wileys had nine children: Mary Ann Wiley, Georgia Dove Wiley, Townsend Elijah Wiley, James Sterling Wiley, Benjamin Price Wiley, Alexander Burdine Wiley, Addie Jane Wiley, Ethel Ellen Wiley and Charles Henry Wiley. According to the obituary of Benjamin Price Wiley, he was born in Cuero, DeWitt County in 1879. The family moved to Edna in 1894 and then settled in Blessing, Matagorda County in 1897. Alexander died in 1904 and was buried at Hawley.

Final Rites Held For Ben J [P]. Wiley, Saturday Funeral services for Benjamin Price Wiley were held at the Palacios Funeral Home, Saturday, November 15 at 2 p. m. with Mr. Ellis Johnson conducting the service. Interment was in the Hawley Cemetery. One of nine children, he was born December 28, 1876 in Cuero the son of Alexander and Delilah Wiley. In 1894 the family moved to Edna and in 1897 to Matagorda County settling in Blessing, since then he had lived in or around Palacios. He died at his home here Friday, November 14 after a week’s illness. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Fields of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. W. J. Harris of Waco and one brother, Charles H. Charles Henry Wiley, Sr., 89, of Palacios died Nov. 30, 1976 in Wagner General Hospital. He was born Jan. 28, 1887 in Stockdale. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Delilah Morton of Palacios; three sons, Charles H. Wiley, Jr. of Houston, Leslie Wiley of California and John David Wiley of Palacios; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Harris of Waco; 13 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bay City. Services were held Friday at 2 p. m. at the Palacios Funeral Home. The Rev. L. W. Carl Israel officiated. Wiley, (Mrs.) Amelia Hayes, 72, died Wednesday in Palacios. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 p. m. at the First Methodist Church in Bay City with the Rev. Conrad Winborn officiating. Interment will be in Hawley Cemetery. Mrs. Wiley is survived by her husband, Charles Henry Wiley of Palacios; a daughter, Mrs. Delilah Morton of Palacios; four sons, Charles Jr. of Houston, John David of Brazoria and Leslie and J. C. of Palacios; one sister Bess Magby of Carlsbad, N. M., and 21 grandchildren. Mrs. Wiley had been a resident of Matagorda County for 50 years. James Claude Wiley, 45, of Bay City, died in Brazoria County June 16, 1976. He was born Dec. 18, 1930 in Bay City.
He is survived by his wife Pat Wiley of Bay City, father C. H. Wiley of Palacios, three daughters Mrs. Claudia Touchstone of El Cajon, Calif., a son Jay Wiley of Bay City, a sister Delilah Morton of Palacios, brothers Charles Wiley of Houston, Leslie Wiley of Santee, Calif. and John Wiley of Freeport, and one granddaughter.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Matagorda and the Bay City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
The funeral services will be held from Taylor Brothers Funeral Home Saturday, June 19, 1976 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Oliver Southall officiating.
Interment will be from the Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Arrangements were made with Taylor Brothers Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Howard Cartwright, George Wiley, John David Wiley, Charles Henry Wiley, Junior Orr and Isaiah Gartica.

Funeral services for Charles H. Wiley, 77, are scheduled for 10 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 30 in the Chapel of the Heights Funeral Home in Houston. Graveside services and internment will follow at 3 p. m. on Saturday at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Friends may call after 3 p. m. today with the family receiving visitors from 7-9 p. m. at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd. in Houston. Mr. Wiley passed away on Thursday, Aug. 28, 1997, after an 11 year battle with cancer. A native of Brazoria and Matagorda Counties, he has resided in Houston since 1960. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Christine Newman Wiley; daughters Wilda of Houston and Joan of Fort Worth; and son, Eddie of Houston; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, Leslie Wiley of Santee, C. Christine WileyCHRISTINE "TENIE" WILEY, 84, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2006, in Houston, Texas. A native Houstonian, she was born on May 8, 1921, to John and Lura Newman. Mrs. Wiley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Wiley and daughter, Wilda Ruth Wiley. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Woods; son, Charles E. Wiley and his wife, Belinda Carson; grandchildren, Carla Mayfield, T.J. Woods and Wilda K. Wiley; and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006, at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77008. Wilda R. Wiley died Thursday, August 16, 2001 after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born to Christine N. Wiley and the late Charles H. Wiley on October 7, 1942.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by: her sister, Joan Woods; brother, Eddie Wiley; nieces, Carla Mayfield and Wilda K. Wiley; nephew T.J. Woods; life-long friend Ann Saha and a host of other friends and relatives.
Wilda led a full and active life. She retired from Tenneco after 23 years. She also worked part time for the Astrodome over a 15 year period and for Foleys for 25 years as a financial counselor.
A visitation for friends and family will be held at Heights Funeral Home on Friday, August 17, 2001 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a funeral service to be held on Saturday, August 18, 2001 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home at 11 a.m.
A graveside service will be held at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas at 3 p.m. that afternoon.

Charles Edward Wiley, 64, of Houston, Texas, passed away Wednesday November 12, 2014. He was born June 27, 1950 in Leesville, Louisiana to the late Charles H. and Christine Newman Wiley. Charles is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilda Wiley. He is survived by his wife Belinda Carson Wiley; daughters Carla Wiley Mayfield (Mike) and Wilda Wiley Talbott (Benny Jr. “Bebo”);daughter Robin Carson and sister Joan Wiley Franz (Chuck); grandchildren Brett Mayfield, Sebastiaan Talbott, Kalab Talbott, Raul Castillo and Brittany Mitchell and nephew T.J. Woods. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00am Monday, November 17 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas. The funeral service will follow visitation at 2:00pm. with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas.
