Alice Clara (Quinney) Hardy
September 16, 1886 - January 9, 1993

Alice and her husband William Thomas “Bill” Hardy, (March 18, 1884 - March 28, 1956), are buried at Ashby Cemetery.  Their son Private First Class John Jasper Hardy (June 6, 1917 - August 1, 1945), United States Army died in a plane crash during World War II.  His remains were not recovered.  At the time of his death his family was living in Markham. A memorial marker has been placed at Ashby Cemetery in his memory.

                         

Katie Annie (Williams) Ray
March 17, 1904 - April 17, 1996

Katie and her husband Richard “Dick” Ray Sr. (March 6, 1899 - January 15, 1979) are buried at Ashby Cemetery.  Their son Staff Sergeant Richard Ray, Jr. (September 14, 1923 - June 8, 1944) United States Army Air Forces, 8th Air Force was stationed in England. His aircraft on returning from a combat mission caught on fire and crash landed in an open field fourteen miles west of Thetford, England. He is buried at the Nashville National Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee.  At the time of his death his family was living in Palacios.
