BAY CITY - Abel Rutherford Sr., 76, of Bay City, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005.

He was born Feb. 12, 1928 to the late Ferdinand Rutherford and Fannie Wyche.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. tonight at Green's Mortuary chapel.

He will lie in state 1- 2 p.m. Saturday at Vine Grove Christian Church in Live Oak Community.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating.

Burial will be at Live Oak Cemetery. Green's Mortuary, Bay City, 979-245-3489.

Barbara Rutherford

Barbara Ann Rutherford

Funeral services for Barbara Ann Rutherford, 23, of Bay City, were held Saturday, Feb. 14 at Green’s Mortuary with Elder Fred Jones Sr. officiating. Burial followed at Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak.

Ms. Rutherford passed on Feb. 11, 1998 and was born Jan. 6, 1975 to the union of Alice Jones Wilson and Abel Rutherford, Sr. in Bay City.

She is survived by her mother Alice Jones Wilson of Brazoria; father Abel Rutherford, Sr. of Bay City; four sisters, Anita Rutherford of Arizona, Delores Sardina of Bay City, Lantana and Rufus Green of Freeport and Betty Ann Rutherford of Houston. Brothers Rev. Roland Rutherford of Bay City, Abel and Eva Rutherford Jr. of Bay City, Michael and Kelly Rutherford of Brazoria, Gregory Simmons of Key West, Fl.; a niece Jazlyn Rutherford of Brazoria; uncles Kenneth Rutherford of Bay City, Soileau Boycick of Houston, Charles Rutherford of Bay City, Wilfred John and Ernest Chapman. And grandmother Celestine John of Brazoria.

Her brothers served as pallbearers.

Arrangements were with Green’s Mortuary in Bay City.

Eddie Rutherford

Eddie Glenn Rutherford

Funeral services for Eddie Glenn Rutherford, 42, of Austin, will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999 at Enterprise Baptist Church, Rev. J. Weldon Gilbert, pastor, and Rev. R. N. Pointer, eulogist. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak. Visitation will be Friday until 9 p. m in Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel, and from 10 to 11 a. m. Saturday at the church.

Rutherford was born in Bay City April 2, 1956 and died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998 at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin. His education was in Bay City Public School. Later, joined the Job Corp in Russellville, Ark. His spiritual aspirations transpired early in life at Enterprise Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. H. Pointer. Throughout life, he kept the faith. He was a former resident of Bay City.

Rutherford is survived by his mother, Ann Woodard of Bay City; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Caldwell, Audrey Wilkins (and Dwain) and Veda Rutherford, all of Bay City; also a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and an extended family of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Willard Don Rutherford on Feb. 11, 1995.

Pallbearers will be John Rutherford, Ralph Roberson, Paul Roberson, Johnny Wyche, Calvin Fletcher, and Eddie Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kary Woodard, Jr., Abel Rutherford, Sr., Kirby Roberson, Edwin Roberson, Dwain Wilkins, Ronald Miller, Benny Wyche, and his classmates.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.

Kenneth Rutherford
February 23, 1940 - October 15, 2015

Kenneth was born February 23, 1940 to Fannie Lee and Fernand Rutherford.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Grace; two brothers, Able “Jr. Boy” Wyche and Clemis Brown; four sons and three daughters. One god-daughter, Kimberly Lewis; nine grandchildren, Paula Malveaux, Kenedi Rutherford, Reagan Rutherford Jerrick Hayes, Shameria Hayes, Sable Gipson, Austen Hayes, Anfernee Hayes, and Jamil Hayes; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Kenneth Rutherford 75, of Bay City will be Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. T. L. Richardson, officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Live Oak Cemetery immediately after services.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Green’s Mortuary. 

Final arrangements are entrusted with Green’s Mortuary.

Willard Don Rutherford

Funeral services for Willard Don Rutherford, 41, of Bay City, are scheduled for 11 a. m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 1995, at Mother Zion Baptist Church in Bay City, with the Rev. K. J. Griggs officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak.

Visitation will be until 9 p. m. Friday at the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Rutherford was born Nov. 24, 1953, in El Campo and died Feb. 11, 1995, in Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City.

He was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include his mother, Ann Woodard of Bay City, a son, Victor Gusman of Bay City; three sisters, Audrey Wilkins of Crawley, La., Shirley Caldwell of Bay City and Veda Rutherford of Bay City; a brother, Eddie Rutherford of Bay City; aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Bobby Wyche, Johnny Wyche, Ralph Roberson, Paul Roberson, John Rutherford and the classmates of 1973.

Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Rutherford, Kary Woodard Jr., Abel Rutherford Sr., Edwin Roberson, Kirby Roberson, Dwain Wilkins and Gerald Perkins.

Eldred Ray Thymes

Funeral services for Eldred Ray Thymes, 62, of Van Vleck will be at 1 p. m. Saturday, April 4 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Lane with Rev. M. L. Fields officiating.

Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Live Oak Community. Mr. Thymes will lie in state at the church Saturday from noon until 1 p. m.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon until 9 p. m.

Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. in the Chapel at Green’s Mortuary.

Mr. Thymes passed away March 28 at Matagorda General Hospital.

He was born April 30, 1936 to the union of Eddie Lou Thymes Bythewood and Lum Brinkley in Matagorda County.

He is survived by his wife, Hattie Mae Thymes of Van Vleck; daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Hallis Kinsey of Houston; father, Lum Brinkley of Van Vleck; brother, Freddy Brinkley of Houston; two grandsons, Hallis and Quincy Kinsey of Houston; Aunt Cleo Thymes of Bay City; two sister-in-laws, Mary Reno of Cedar Lane, and Lovie Baugh of Sweeney, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Robert Earl Rollins, Johnas Brinkley, Rev. Charles Mangum, John L. Brinkley, C. H. Singletary, and Horace Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Lum Brinkley, Hallis Kinsey, Thomas Bree, Jesse Thymes, Eddie Baugh, Kenneth Grice, Jimmie Thymes, Joe Thymes and Ronald Brown.

Eugene Times Jr.

Funeral services for Eugene Times Jr., 63, were scheduled for 1:30 p. m. Sunday at Vine Grove Christian Church, Live Oak Community, with the Rev. G. L. Franklin, officiating. Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery, Live Oak.

Visitation was scheduled for Saturday afternoon and from 1 to 1:30 p. m. Sunday. A wake was scheduled from 7 to 9 p. m. Saturday at Green’s Mortuary.

Mr. Times was born April 1, 1924, in Live Oak Community to Eugene and Mollie Bell Wyche Times Sr. and died Feb. 18, 1988 at Matagorda General Hospital.

Survivors include a sister, Vevee L. Williams of Van Vleck; four brothers, Jimmie Times, Joshua Times, Joe Nathan Times and Jessie Times of Live Oak and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers include Mike Hawkins, Anthony Hawkins, Ronnie Times, Aaron Lynn Times, Donnie Times and Herbert Mays.

Honorary pallbearers include Odis Hawkins, Curtis Times, Ronald Times, Quentin Young, Arnold Bouttee and Roy Times Jr.
