Ella Mae Fayle

Funeral services for Ella Mae Fayle, 82, of Matagorda are scheduled for 2 p. m., Jan. 24 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny James officiating. Interment followed at the Matagorda Cemetery.

Ella Fayle passed away Jan. 22 in Houston. She was born Sept. 15, 1915 in Barbers Hill, Chambers County to Wilber Jenks Stubbs and Roena Ann Williams Stubbs.

She was married to Jesse L. Fayle on June 5, 1933.

Mrs. Fayle had been a resident of Matagorda since 1946, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Matagorda, and an avid domino player.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse L. Fayle of Matagorda; by her daughters and sons-in-law, Nelda Fay and John D. Holcombe of Matagorda and Rita Pauline and Lawrence Johnson of Coden, Ala.

And by a son, Donald Fayle of Coden, Ala.; and by a sister, Wilma Dean Lynn of Winnie.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fayle was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Hall.

Pallbearers were Dewey Holcombe, Don Brantley, Dave Carlock, Floyd Johnson, John Holcombe, David Springston and Clifford Bryant.

Honorary pallbearers included Michael Johnson, David Springston Jr. and Daniel Springston.

Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.

Pat Ferguson

Graveside services were held for Mrs. Pat Ferguson, 66, of Matagorda, 3 p. m. today (Wednesday) at the Matagorda Cemetery.

Officiating at the services was the Rev. Bob Dickens of the First Methodist Church of Matagorda.

Ferguson died February 8, 1983 in Matagorda.

Survivors include husband, Ray L. Ferguson of Matagorda; 2 brothers, 5 sisters, 5 grandchildren.

Service under the direction of Dick R. Elkins Bay City Funeral Home.

George Ford

Mr. George Ford, a citizen of Matagorda, died at the home of his brother, Fred Ford, in Matagorda last Tuesday. Decedent was buried in the public cemetery at that place on Wednesday forenoon, Father G. A. Montrell officiating.

Lela Mae Foster

Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Lela Mae Foster, 75, of Bay City, 2 p. m. Saturday at the Tyree Chapel AME Church in Bay City.

Officiating at the services will be the Rev. L. K. Williams.

Foster died December 12, 1981 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Houston.

Survivors include son, Roy C. Moore; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Georgia Moore of Houston; step-mother, Mrs. S. A. Alexander of Houston; step-daughters, Mrs. Maggie Hamilton of Corsicana and Mrs. Vivian Crawford of West Columbia; grandchildren, Mrs. Helen Nelson, Mrs. Bertha J. Rudds, Mrs. Beverly J. Cutliff, Lesia Moore, Leroy Moore and Linda Mason all of Houston; 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation hours are Friday from 3:30 to 9 p. m. at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow services at Matagorda Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Joe Hilliard, David Preston, Michael Hebert, James Baxter, Lawrence Walker and Maxey Sprague.

Celestina Sylvia Franklin

Graveside services for Celestina Sylvia Franklin, 82, of Matagorda have been scheduled for Matagorda Cemetery. A date and time for the services are pending at Bay City Funeral Home.

Mrs. Franklin was born Nov. 17, 1909, in Guyana, South America, and died Nov. 17, 1991, at Matagorda General Hospital.

She was a member of the Catholic church.

Survivors include two sons, William Franklin of London, England and Rudolph Franklin of Lancashire, England; three daughters, Rita Vieira of Mississanga, Ontario, Canada and Dolys Fuselier of Matagorda; and 14 grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Dick R. Elkins of Bay City Funeral Home.
