Hugh Keary Ogden

H. K. Ogden, one of Matagorda County’s pioneer citizens and a resident of Bay City since the town was founded, died at his home here Saturday and was burned in Matagorda Cemetery Sunday afternoon.

Kerry Ogden, as he was known, was a man of sterling qualities. He was a painter by trade and by dent of close application to his trade succeeded in accumulation a comfortable amount of property in Bay City. Mr. Ogden is survived by his widow, also a native of the county.

Some months ago deceased suffered a stroke of apoplexy from which he never recovered sufficiently to leave his room. As a result he lived quietly and was tenderly looked after by his devoted companion until the end

The funeral was attended by several cars of close friends of the family whom the Tribune joins in a sincere expression of the deepest sympathy.
