Henry Wayne Carroll

April 3, 1935 - May 7, 2017

Henry Wayne Carroll, age 82, of Matagorda, Texas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, entrepreneur, mentor, friend, visionary and servant of Christ went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2017.

Wayne was born April 3, 1935 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Henry and Reba Carroll.

Wayne was preceded in death by his mother and father; his sisters, Jane and Sharon.

He is survived by wife, Sue; daughter, Donna, and her daughters, Elisabeth and Alexandra, and granddaughter, Audrey; son, Mark with his wife Julieta and daughter Kayleigh; and daughter, Dana and her son, Ryan and daughter, Kimberly.

Wayne, above all, loved, and was adored by, his family. Wayne gave selflessly, and supported his family, his many friends, his church and his community.

A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Wayne embarked on a successful 60+ year career in the oil and gas industry, learning the industry from the ground up, beginning with his 20+ year stint at Daniel Industries, where he held a number of management positions.  He brought that experience and insight to multiple entrepreneurial ventures, including co-founding and serving as Vice President of Flow Automation, founding and serving as President of Premier Instruments, Inc. and founding and serving as Chairman, CEO and President of TMCo, Inc.

Wayne was a man with a great entrepreneurial spirit.

He saw opportunity where others perceived obstacles. He embraced challenge where others might retreat in fear. He would not accept defeat and would praise God for all.  He loved building projects and has many beautiful testaments to his credit. TMCo stands as a lasting legacy to Wayne’s vision and drive as well as his commitment to those he encountered over his life.  Wayne established TMCo’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the heart of Wewoka, Oklahoma, bringing jobs and economic development to his childhood home.  He was dearly loved by his employees, each of whom he knew by name.  In business, as in life, Wayne was old school; his handshake and his word were his bond, as strong as oak.

Wayne’s easy smile and laugh and ability to relate to people of all walks of life meant he seldom met a stranger, only friends or potential friends.  He was known as a great story teller as he shared of his travels around the world.  Wayne loved hunting and fishing, and time with family and friends, creating a sanctuary where all were welcome on the Colorado River in Matagorda.

Wayne was an active member of Discover Life Church, Markham, Texas, with a passion to help young people.

The family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be sent in his honor to Discover Life Church, P.O. Box 729, Markham, TX 77456 or online at https://www.discoverlifechurch.me/give

David Rosser Cole

(October 18, 1949 - February 10, 2017)

David Rosser Cole, 67, of Bay City passed away February 10, 2017 after a long struggle with kidney disease. He was born October 18, 1949 in Bay City, Texas to Rosser Moody Cole and Virginia Bell Davis Cole. David slipped away quietly with his father at his side.

He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Cole and his wife Joyce Minter Cole. Survivors include his father Rosser Cole; son Clint Cole, brothers Raymond Cole, Roy Cole (wife Kathy) and Allan Cole; step sisters Janie Flemming and Mona Davenport along with many nieces and nephews.

David grew up working on his family’s grass farm contributing to the team effort of fertilizing, watering, mowing, and spraying weeds for months, until the turf grass was ready for harvesting, and then repeating the process all over again.

He loved working on cars and he was well known in his high school days for his “souped up” yellow 1964 Chevrolet Impala. Other friends with fast cars used to compete with him to see how quickly they could cross a quarter mile marker out on a country road starting from a dead stop.

David was always joking around with everyone he knew and even those he didn’t know. He sometimes got strange looks from those that didn’t know him because they did not know at first that he was a chronic jokester. That made it even funnier to those that knew what was going on and were watching the perplexed expression coming from the bewildered stranger. Finally, everyone would laugh and let the stranger know David was just joking. Those that knew David will smile when reading these words because they know exactly what we are talking about.

Earlier in life, David took up flying and especially enjoyed executing spin recoveries, a maneuver where they would intentionally put the airplane into a diving spin and then pull out of it before getting too close to the ground. Family members can recall him with his crop dusting friends doing these spins high above the family farm’s airstrip. It was really a site to see.

Later in life, David assisted his father drilling and repairing water wells. Even as David’s health began to fail, he would get up early and go out for half a day’s work. He enjoyed being out and active.

David will be sorely missed by those that knew him.

Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Cedarvale Cemetery with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating.

They gather every Christmas Eve to celebrate the birth of our Savior. She has always welcomed everyone into her home with open arms, and if she knew you were coming to celebrate Christmas with the family, you would even have a present under the tree. It has always been a tradition that once the Christmas meal had finished, she would gather all the small children around the tree and tell them the story of the birth of Jesus. She wanted to make sure that they all knew the true meaning of Christmas.

Rosa Lee is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doyle O’Hanlin Coston; and daughter, Bonnie Coston.
