Maunsell Bennett “Doc” Fatheree, 82, of Midfield passed away September 21, 2018. He was born June 8, 1936 in Alexandria, Louisiana to the late Sidney Pierce Fatheree and Juanita Foreman Fatheree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Jason Walker Fatheree and son-in-law Harold Cates. Survivors include his wife Ann Richardson Fatheree; daughter Sonia Fatheree; daughter-in-law Nancy Fatheree; step-children Lisa Sliva McKissick, Jaimie Sliva and Fabacher Sliva; sister Billie Brooks; brother James Fatheree and grandchildren Jenna Langhorne, Sterling Sliva and John Fatheree. Jean Vondre Fehmel, 75, of Bay City, TX passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 11, 2019. She was born January 22, 1944 in Laredo, TX to Clyde and Alice Tinnin. Jean graduated from Wharton High School in 1960. She then attended Wharton Junior College where she was a member of the Starlette Dance Team and went on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University. Jean has been a long-time resident of Matagorda County, where she has been a successful owner and broker of Professional Realty Group. She dedicated her time to the Bay City community as a businesswoman, active member of the Boys and Girls Club, Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Matagorda County Board of Realtors and Bay City Rotary Club. Through the Rotary Club, Jean served as a host to foreign exchange students and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. In 1989, Jean was instrumental in bringing CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for children) serving Matagorda County and has served as president of the board since 2014. CASA supports and promotes court appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child can be safe, have a permanent home and have the opportunity to thrive. In 2014, through Jean’s leadership, the Children’s Store located on the square in Bay City, TX was established, as a non-profit organization to support CASA Matagorda County. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Fehmel of Bay City, TX; her sisters Novie Tinnin Smith and Clydie Jan Tinnin of Bay City; her brothers Mark Tinnin and wife Karen of Brazoria, TX and Ben Tinnin and wife Rosa of New Braunfels, TX; her sons Jimmie Pavlu, Jr. and wife Gina of Halletsville, TX, Joel Pavlu and wife Jennifer of Mansfield, TX and Jonathan Fehmel and wife Susan of Bay City, TX; her daughter Jill Oates and husband Kelly of Austin, TX; her step-daughter Wendy Kirkby and husband Brett of Naples, FL; and by her grandchildren Chad, Cameron, Connor, Alana, Addisyn, Mason, Haylee, Peyton, Logan and many loving extended family members. Jean was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Bay City, TX . She was a faithful servant to her church community and to God. Jean was always on the go! She enjoyed sharing good times with family and friends, traveling all over the world, playing in her weekly card game with her girlfriends, going to the movies, casinos and shopping trips to Houston. Ismael “Mayelo” Hernández Fernández, 61, of Van Vleck, passed away March 3, 2019. He was born November 29, 1957 in Nvo Laredo Tamps, Mexico to Jose and Evagelina Hernández Fernández. Mayelo is preceded in death by his parents; sister Maria de la Paz and brother Juan Fernández. He is survived by wife Lirio Martinez Fernández; daughters Edith Fernandez (Martin Hernandez), Priscilla Fernandez (Leonard Fernandez) and Lirio C. Lynn Fife, 63, of Bay City passed away June 24, 2019. She was born August 12, 1955 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to James Browning and Jane Cunningham Browning. She was the owner of Lynn Fife Dance Studio. Dancing was her passion and in her blood. Her mother was also a dance teacher, as well as her daughter Heather and granddaughter Hailey. You can say dance was in their genetics. Lynn loved, and was proud of, all of her students. She taught for over 30 years and 3 generations in some families. Lynn enjoyed traveling and loved all of her cats. She lived life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband Randy Fife of Bay City; mother Jane Browning of Pearland; daughter Heather Fife Dunlap & husband Scott of McKinney, TX; son Brett Fife of Bay City; sisters Kathy Jamison of League City, TX and Jamie Franchois & husband Mark of Katy, TX and granddaughter Hailey Mathis. LAKE JACKSON - Clarence Joe Filip, age 76, a longtime resident of Lake Jackson, passed away on June 5th. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Marie; and his children, Donna Orr (Brad), Lynn Bowers (Brian), Carlton Filip (Sheri) and Terryl (Kelli) Filip; along with 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and brother, Richard Filip and sister, Dorothy Lolley. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 7th from 6 – 8 pm at St. Michael Catholic Church with a Vigil service starting at 7pm followed by rosary. Funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 8 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Lake Jackson with Msgr. Leo Wleczyk officiating, with graveside services at 3 pm at St. Peter's Catholic cemetery in Blessing Texas. Clarence was born October 15th, 1940 in Wharton, Texas and graduated from Wharton High School. Growing up he enjoyed working alongside his father in the family grocery store, "Filip's Grocery" in El Campo. He and his wife moved to Lake Jackson in 1966. He was very active in St. Michael's Church in Lake Jackson and the Knights of Columbus. He was the Grand Knight, District Deputy and a 4th Degree member and was a KC member for 57 years. He was chairman of St. Michael's Church picnic for many years and founded Monday night rosary in 1988, which he led for many years. He and his longtime friend, Art Vandaveer, were in charge of placing pro-life crosses in front of the church for many years. And led many tours to Medjugorje. He enjoyed his large extended family and was always cooking at family gatherings, family reunions and was the life of the party. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. Antonia G. Flores, 91, of Palacios, Texas died peacefully on January 21, 2019. Antonia was born on September 6, 1927 in Los Indios, Texas to Jose and Catarina Guerra.
Her family and her faith in God were Antonia’s passion and delight. She was Presbyterian, and taught and raised as a child, that God and family was all that one needed to be happy.
She married the love of her life, Roland Flores on May 16, 1948. In that marriage of 50 years they were blessed with 4 children, Roland, Mary, David and Tricia. Antonia had 2 grandchildren that she adored, Rob Flores and wife Brooke, and Natalia Flores. She enjoyed reading the Bible and was an avid reader of inspirational books. She loved to sew and loved making quilts for her family. She enjoyed baking cookies, pies, and cakes for her husband and children. She loved going to the Senior Citizen Center to be with friends and to pay bingo and engage in word finds. Antonia leaves behind her 4 sisters, Bertha Martino, Lydia Longoria, Olga Latapie and Oralia Mijares.
Antonia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roland Flores, and siblings Elfida Frangullie, Roy Guerra, and Joe Guerra. Antonia will be deeply missed by all who loved her so much. Heaven now has a sweet angel to love.

Donald Ray Floyd was born on February 27, 1958, in Marshall, Texas to the late Joe and Dot (Sellers) Floyd. The Lord welcomed him home on July 9, 2018. A memorial service was held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Matagorda, Texas. Donald Floyd was an all-around cowboy who lived a very full life. He was a proud SFA graduate and successful agricultural salesman. He loved playing and watching sports. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, traveler, and professional advice giver. His happy place was sharing these activities with his wife, friends, kids and grandkids. Donald adored his wife of 24 years, Rebecca. Together they were always a source of strength and assistance for others during hard times. Donald never met a stranger. His arms and home were always open, and he loved people without holding back. Many of those he helped were through AA, where he celebrated 25+ years of sobriety. He changed many lives through his genuine love and support. Donald loved his children and grandchildren fiercely. He was incredibly proud of the men Jake and Wade have become and was so joyful for his time in the lives of John and April. He was adored by his grandchildren. He never was too busy to play and always loved snuggling with his babies. He loved his brothers and sisters and is now reunited with Pam, who passed away far too young. Donald was unconventional and unpredictable, unending in his commitment to his family and unbounding in love for us all. His faith in Jesus and his endless love of his family and friends were the bedrocks of his life. Donald, Dad, Tick, Floyd, Pawpaw, We love you. We miss you. Thank you for your love and your life. Donald leaves behind his loving wife, Rebecca; his children, Jacob (Tabitha) Floyd, Wade (Julie) Floyd, John (Nicki) Reeder, and April (William) Reeder; as well as his grandchildren, Allen (Macy), JW, Callie, Katie, Clara, Josiah, Joe-Joe, and Zeke; and great-grandchildren Kylee and Khloey. Richard Fojtik was born on March 7, 1965 in Bay City, TX. Mr. Fojtik passed away June 23, 2019 in Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Fojtik Sr.; mother, Winifred Rouse Fojtik; sister, Christine Fojtik Bortner. He is survived by his brothers, Louis Fojtik of Van Vleck, TX., Albert Fojtik and wife Debra of Bay City, TX., Frank Fojtik of Houston, TX., and Jim Fojtik and wife Jesse of Tomball, TX.; sisters, Delores Henrich and husband Daniel of Mena, AR., Sharon Williams and husband Earnest of Midfield, TX., and Cathy Green and husband Pete of Bay City, TX.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Fojtik loved his family immensely. Richard was a volunteer at Lakewood Church in Houston, TX. Richard was very devoted to the Lord. Wadsworth has been remarkably free from the flu epidemic but the school is grieving over the loss of little Hazel Fondon who was a pupil in the primary room until recently when the Fondons moved to Bay City. Little Hazel was stricken with pneumonia from which he did not recover. The little body was placed to rest in Cedarvale cemetery Monday, Jan. 7. The Wadsworth school attended the funeral in a body. Wilford E. “Tank” Frazier, 79, of Bay City passed away March 7, 1996 at Matagorda House in Bay City. He was born January 30, 1917 in Kentwood, Louisiana to Wilford William and Mary Brabham Frazier. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a veteran of WWII, a retired gauger at Phillips Petroleum Company, a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge #865 A. F. & A. M. in Bay City, and had been a resident of Bay City since 1955. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Huebner Frazier of Bay City; by one daughter and son-in-law, Karyle and Ralph “Skip” Chalfant of Wimberley, Texas; by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marcus and Denise Frazier and Hollis and Bonnie Frazier all of Bay City; a sister Myrtle Carter of Baton Rouge, La. and by his grandchildren, Jennifer and Allan Nail of Killeen, Texas, Ivy Chalfant of San Angelo, Laura Frazier, Marc Frazier, Tiffany Frazier, Holli Frazier and Melinda Frazier all of Bay City and numerous nieces and nephews. Frazier Mary Louise Huebner Frazier was born to Willie Belle Hurst Huebner and Marcus Dudley Huebner on May 4, 1923 in Bay City, Texas. She entered the gates of heaven on March 16, 2018. Mary Louise, known to her friends and family as Boe, grew up in Bay City. Although her family lived in town, they ranched in the surrounding area. During WWII she and some friends attended a USO dance at Camp Hulan in Palacios – a training post for the Army. While at the dance she met a tall, lanky, handsome soldier who would sweep her off her feet and later become her husband. Wilford E. “Tank” Frazier was training to join the occupation forces in Japan. Tank and Boe continued to date long distance despite her parents’ disapproval of their six year age difference. Boe went on to graduate from Bay City High School and attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. Boe and Tank married on April 13, 1944 at Camp Hulen. They originally planned to marry in Bay City; however, the post was on lock-down, so they were married in the post chapel. After Tank’s military service was completed he came home from Japan to his wife and a new daughter – Karyle Louise was born in 1945. The family of three moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where Tank got a job at the Ethyl plant. In 1948 a son, Marcus Emmanuel, came into this world three months early. Due to his early arrival, Karyle was sent to Bay City to stay with her grandparents until Marcus was a healthier baby. Around 1953 the Frazier’s decided to move back to Bay City to be closer to Boe’s family. Tank took a job at the Phillips plant in Sweeny. The family resided in a modest home on Avenue K in town. During this time Boe was a homemaker to her family. In 1955 another son, Hollis Carter, was born. Boe and Tank had originally been given acreage on Highway 60 as a wedding gift from her parents. In 1957 they built a brick home there and moved out of the city limits. They later named the place Starvation Plantation – everything but money. During Boe’s life she enjoyed being a member of the local ladies' book club and serving as a hospital volunteer with the Pink Ladies at Matagorda General. She also loved taking bluebonnet road trips with her family and many friends. She treasured taking her grandchildren to Matagorda Beach and visiting the hill country. She also enjoyed watching her husband and family make many cattle beach drives to the Matagorda Peninsula. Boe was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus Dudley and Willie Belle Huebner; her husband, Wilford E. “Tank” Frazier; and her brother, Dudley Jackson Huebner. Boe was most pleased being the matriarch of a growing family. She loved with great passion her three children, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Karyle Chalfant (Ralph) of Temple; son, Marcus Frazier of Bay City; son, Hollis Frazier (Bonnie) of Bay City; her grandchildren, Jennifer Chalfant Massey (Neil) of Richardson, Ivy Chalfant Pickens (Steve) of Paint Rock, Laura Frazier (Brian Locke), Marc Frazier (Taina), Tiffany Frazier McArthur (Mike) all of Bay City, Holli Frazier Sykes (Jeremy) of Sweeny, and Melinda Frazier Hirst (Dylan) of Wadsworth; great grandchildren, Blaine and Benjamin Nail, Miles and Wyatt Massey, Brode Pickens (Kelcey), Kip and Chaney Pickens, Ethan, Will, and Trevor Frazier, Garrison McArthur, Skylar Sykes, and Laramie Hirst; and great great-grandchildren, Aubree and Baylor Pickens. Boe is also survived by her daughter-in-love, Denise Davis Frazier of Bay City; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Marcus Frazier, Marc Frazier, Ethan Frazier, Hollis Frazier, Dudley Huebner and Ralph Chalfant. Viewing was held Monday, March 19, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Services will be held for Ruth Frazier at 1 p. m. on Friday at the Bethel Baptist Church in Bay City. Rev. L. C. Cunningham will be officiating followed by interment at Eastview Cemetery. Born June 26, 1891 in Cuero, she died September 13, 1982 in the Gulf Coast Hospital in Wharton. Visitation hours are from 4 to 9 p. m. at the Funeral Home Chapel. Survivors include two sons, Walter Frazier of Bay City and Leo Frazier of Sweeny; one sister, Estella McElroy of Bay City; one brother, Frank Harrison of San Diego; a daughter-in-law, Juanita Frazier of Sweeny; one niece and six nephews. February 19, 1951 - January 31, 2019 It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Dee Frick announces his passing on January 31, 2019, at the age of 67 years old. Michael will forever be remembered by his wife of 47 years, Deborah. Children- Nora Gardner and Jimmie, Jonathon Frick and Jennifer. Grandchildren- Hannah Davis and Chris, Nathaniel Gardner and Great grandson- Case Davis. Siblings included- Danny Frick, Mark Frick and Terry Lynn, Larry Frick and Tessie, Terry Frick and Stacey, DeeAnn Zapalac and Paul, and Paula Kitzmiller and Tony. Linda J. Frost, 73, of Bay City passed away September 22, 2018. She was born November 23, 1944 in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Jody Leige Tucker and Della Mae Polensky Tucker. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe E. Frost and a daughter Elizabeth Frost Morrow. Survivors include daughters Virginia Frost Cole (Robert) and Carolyn Frost; son Joey Frost (Debbie); sister Marilyn Thornton (Rocky); brother Glenn Tucker (Monica); grandchildren Stephanie Walker, Elaine Staqples, Bradley Sabrsula, Trent Frost and Laura Sykes and great grandchildren Brittany Walker, Jada Reddic, Malik Reddic, Corey Lewis, Colby Staples and Carley Staples. A celebration of life will begin at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Virginia Cole’s residence 306 PR 620 in Bay City. Interment will be private. Pallbearers are Bradley Sabrsula , Anthony Thomas, Corey Lewis, Jody Tucker, Billy Staples and Colby Staples.
