Well Known Citizen Dies – Wilson A. Brown

W. A. Brown, one of the best and most favorably known citizens of Palacios, died on Dec. 31, about seven o’clock a. m., after an illness of nearly a month.

On Dec. 3, while assisting in making some repairs at his farm north of town, he was taken suddenly with a severe heart attack which threatened his life for several hours. After he rallied somewhat he was brought to his home here and gradually improved so that in about two weeks he was getting about a little with a complete recovery fully expected.

He was struck suddenly about Dec. 18 with pneumonia, which, with the weakness resulting from the former illness, proved too much for him, and he passed away, as stated, Dec. 31.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 1, at 10:30 a. m., in the Central Baptist Church, of which Mr. Brown was a member.

An obituary notice and a more extended account of the funeral services will be given in next week’s Beacon.
