GRADUATES OF MATAGORDA COUNTY

1900 - 1945

The Matagorda County Tribune, Thursday, August 23, 1945

100th Anniversary Edition

FOR WHOM THE BELL RANG

The Tribune presents here as complete a roll as possible of the graduates of the high schools of the county. The names have been gathered with the appreciated cooperation of members of the classes and the heads of the school systems. Some were not available, yet on those considerable effort was expended before the trail was finally given up as lost. In no other bit of research in connection with this centennial edition has the effect of the passing of time on human memory been so clear.

As far as records and memories go, superintendents of Bay City schools from 1900 include E. F. Taylor, W. T. Pollard, Mr. Frizzell, E. C. Quereau, R. E. Scott, D. R. Hibbetts, Roy Whisenhunt, O. E. Hutcheson and John H. Cherry.

Superintendents of other high schools in the county in 1945 are: Markham, Alfred Hansen; Blessing, George K. Nelson; Van Vleck, E. E. Rudd and Palacios, R. P. Newsom.
