Important Elections in the School Districts of the County April 4th and May 2nd.
Commissioners Court adjourned Saturday, after a week’s interesting proceedings. The News-Farmer published last Friday a report of the proceedings up to Thursday, including the list of election officers for the general election in November. We give here the officers appointed for the April election in the common school districts for trustees, district and county, and in the independent districts for the county trustees board, on the same day. The independent school districts elect their district trustees on May 2nd, while the common school districts elect trustees on the first Saturday in April.

Palacios independent school district-M. K. Feather, Gordon Lawson, W. C. Williams, at M. K. Feather’s office.

Three County Trustees are to be elected by the whole county, including both common school and independent school districts. The law requires that at least three of the board be from common school districts, and two may be from independent school districts, conditioned, however, that there be a representative from each commissioners’ precinct. Commissioners’ precincts Nos. 1 and 4 are represented on the board, as well as two common school districts by the two holdover trustees. One trustee must be elected each from Commissioners’ Precinct No. 2 and 3, the third may be elected from any precinct. It is recommended by the Court that Dr. J. E. Simons, of Precinct No. 1 and Bay City independent school district, and Frank Vaughan, Precinct No. 2 (common school district), and J. W. Spencer of Commissioners’ Precinct No. 3 and common school district be voted upon to succeed themselves.
