TALAFUSE, LOUIS
VAN VLECK - Louis Talafuse, 73, of Van Vleck, died Thursday, Aug. 14,
2003.
 He was born June 19, 1930, in Bay City, to the late Robert and Mary
Annie Ruether Talafuse. He was a retired postal clerk with the U.S.
Postal Service and a member of Golden Avenue Baptist Church. He was a
veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors: wife, Norma Jean Gibbens Talafuse; daughters, Nora Jean Henry
and Victoria Lynn Talafuse, both of Van Vleck; sisters, Rosie Jansen of
Sugar Land, Albina Jones and Mary Marshall, both of Bay City, and
Paulina Hlavinka of East Bernard; brother: Pete Talafuse of Bay City;
and three grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: brother, Albert Ruether.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Golden Avenue Baptist Church, the
Revs. Max H. Pluss and George Rush officiating.
Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Taylor Bros.

Charles was born in Abbeville, Louisiana.
Charles served in the United States Army during World War II and
received the Purple Heart. Charles was a barber by trade and owned his
own shop for 38 years.
He volunteered at the Matagorda County Genealogical Society. He served
two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Charles is survived by: his son, Charles W. Talbot and wife Linda; by
his grandchildren, Kathryn E. (Glen) Barney, Jennifer L. (Chris) Roundy
and Chad R. Talbot; and by his great grandson, Kaden Barney.
His wife, Opal, preceded him in death.
In lieu of the usual remembrances, donations may be made to Disabled
Veterans, DAV Memorial Program, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH

Opal Reissing
Talbot
Opal Reissing Talbot, 76, of Bay City died at her
residence July 16, 2000. She was born July 27, 1923 in Victoria, Texas
to the late Arthur and Hallie Caraway Reissig. Mrs. Talbot was a member
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a lifetime
resident of Bay City. In 1986 she retired from Matagorda General
Hospital with 37 years as Personnel Director.
Survivors include: husband Charles L. Talbot of Bay City; son and
daughter-in-law Charles W. and Linda Talbot of Sugar Land; sister
Mildred Davidek of Boling; three grandchildren Kathryn, Jennifer and
Chad Talobt all of Sugar Land. She was preceded in death by her sister
Thelma Fisher.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with the Bishop Brent Ethington and
President Joe Cannon, M.D. officiating. Interment will follow at
Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Larry
Talbot, Gary Talbot, James Barbour, Ron Wicker, Mickey Davidek and
Charles Svet. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the High Priest
Group of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Memorials may

TALLAS, LOUIS C.
Funeral services for Louis C. Tallas, 85, of Bay City were to be at 2
p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2000 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with the Rev.
Eric Klimpel officiating.
Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
Mr. Tallas died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000 in Bay City. He was born March 10,
1914 in Hempstead, Texas to Joe and Mary Swet Tallas.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a veteran of World
War II where he served in the U. S. Navy.
He is survived by: one daughter, Linda Alexander of Bay City; three
sons, Jim Tallas of Sugarland, Jerry Tallas of Bay City and Bill Tallas
of Sugarland; sister, Mary Brandel of Wharton; brother, Eddie Tallas of
Van Vleck; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

TASKA, DELVIN L.
Delvin L. Taska, 78, passed away January 22, 2005 at his home in
Blessing.
He was born July 19, 1926, in Nelsonville, Texas to Frank and Frances
Marie Mikeska Taska.
The Taska family, which included sons, Delvin, Hollen and Ellis, lived
in the Ashby area from 1931-1940, until they bought a farm in El Maton.
Delvin attended school in Ashby and graduated from the Blessing High
School.
After graduating from high school in May of 1944, Delvin joined the U.S.
Army, where he served two years in the Infantry while stationed in
Europe.
When he returned from Germany in July of 1946, he decided to attend
college at Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos.
After graduating in August 1949, he left for his first job as a coach
and teacher in Crescent.
His former coach and superintendent, Mr. George K. Nelson, asked him to
take over as principal of a new high school that was to be formed
through the consolidation of five schools.
That school was to become Tidehaven High School.
This was the beginning of 37 years which were devoted to the field of
education.
Delvin was the principal of Tidehaven High School for 23 years, the
assistant superintendent for one year, and he served in the capacity of
superintendent for 13 years until he retired in 1986.
Education and the Tidehaven School District were always such an
important part of life for Delvin and Bernice.
In 1954, Delvin married Bernice Engelholm of Bellville, Texas. They were
blessed with 50 years of marriage this past June.
Delvin and Bernice have two children, Debra Taska who is married to
David Genzer, and Dale Taska and his wife Tracy. Delvin also was the
very proud grandfather of Jordan and Peyton Taska-Genzer.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at
Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Greer officiating.
Interment with Masonic Burial Rites will follow at Hawley Cemetery in
Blessing.
The pallbearers will be Leonard Mikeska, Leonard Mikeska, Jr., Dennis
Richter, Chet Richter, Delton Mikeska, Kirby Mikeska, A.J. Kacer and
Marvin Hurta.
Memorials may be made to the Delvin L. Taska Scholarship Fund, C/O
Tidehaven High School.

Collier Taylor
 James C. Taylor, 86, of Bay City passed away Monday,
January 4, 2010. He was born November 12, 1923 in Shreveport, Louisiana
to the late Elmer Lamar & Maude Gates Taylor. James served his country
during WWII as a member of the Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife: Gloria Colleen Fordham
Taylor of Bay City; 2 sons: Michael James & Mary Taylor of Bay City and
Stephen Lee & Jane Taylor of Sugar Land; sister: Mildred Taylor Mayes of
Beaumont; 5 grandchildren: Ann & Brett Acuff, Cheryl & John Riggs,
Kelley & Michael Arnold, Melissa Taylor and Matthew Taylor; and 2 great
grandchildren: Aidan and Genevieve Arnold. James was preceded in death
by his parents and son Donald Edward Taylor in 1981.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00
PM Tuesday January 5, 2010 at the funeral home. The funeral service will
be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home
Chapel with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at

Robert Lee Teeler, 71, of Bay City, were to be at 2
p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Bro. Joe

Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck.
Mr. Teeler died Jan. 27, 2000 at Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City.
He was born Feb. 14, 1928 in Bay City to the late Earl Jesse and Vallie
Inez Railey Teeler.
Mr. Teeler was a member of the Church of Christ, a life-long resident of
Bay City and a veteran of the Korean Conflict era.
He is survived by: his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Craig
Sharp, Tracy and Kelly Morris and Barbara Sneath all of Bay City, Diane
and James Beyer of Markham; sister, Josie Lou Reese and Dorothy Louise
Coker both of Bay City; brother and sister-in-law, Sherman and Betty
Teeler of Van Vleck; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and by
close friends, F. J. Williams and Harrell Gibbs.
Pallbearers were to include: Michael Sneath, Richard Beyer, Sherman D.
"Bubba" Teeler, James Beyer, Craig Sharp and Tiler Curtner.

Funeral services for Samuel Temple, III, 49 of Bay City will be held
Thursday, May 2, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Evangelist Temple Church of God In
Christ, Bay City, with Elder Doyle Anderson, eulogist. Burial will
follow at Markham Cemetery in Markham.
Visitation will be Wednesday until 9 p.m. in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral
Home Chapel.
He was born in Markham, Texas, Monday, July 28, 1952 to Sam Temple, Jr.
and Otha Brown Temple, and passed away Thursday, April 25, 2002 at
Memorial Hermann Hospital, Houston, Texas.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and will be missed by family and
friends.
Survivors include his devoted mother, Otha Lee Temple of Bay City; two
sons, Sedric Wiggins of Bay City and Samuel Temple, IV of San Antonio;
two sisters, Essie Mae Lenzy of Bay City, and Sallie Davison of San
Antonio; two brothers, Michael Temple of Bay City and Steve Temple of
San Antonio; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives
and friends.

Thames, Chester Quinton
 Thames
Graveside services for Chester Thames, 78, will be held 4 p.m. Friday at
Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Military services will be rendered by the
Honor Guard of Philip H. Parker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2438.
Mr. Thames was born June 23, 1913, to John William and Willie C. Thames
in Bastrop County and died April 7, 1992, at Matagorda General Hospital.
Mr. Thames and his family came to Matagorda County around 1927, and he
has been a lifetime resident here. He served in the Army Air Force,
488th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, during World War II. In Bay City, he
worked as a carpenter, farmer and miller. He worked for the Bay City Box
Factory and the I. N. Mills Lumber Co., which he purchased after Mr.
Mills' death. After his health forced him out of the lumber business, he
opened Thames Saw Shop, where many remember him for sharpening their
saws.
He was a life member of the veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2438 and a
member of the American Legion Post 11 for 46 years. He was a devoted
husband and a loving father.
Survivors include his daughter, Susie Marie Chamrad; two sons and a
daughter-in-law, Dale and Beverly Thames and Kenneth Thames; a
granddaughter, Becky Austin; two stepgrandsons, Jason and Jeffrey Davis;
and a brother, George Thames.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Lucille, who died Dec.
14, 1991, and by his mother and father.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in his
name to the Student Education Fund, Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438, Bay
City, Texas, or a charitable cause of your choice.

Alex Ray Thompson
Funeral services for Alex Thompson, 39, of Bay City
will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Assembly of God in Bay City with
the Rev. Paul Van Winkle officiating. Burial will be at Cedarvale
Cemetery in Bay City.
Mr. Thompson was born July 30, 1953 in Robstown to
Ray and Faye Fleming Thompson and he died Oct. 13, 1992 at Matagorda
General Hospital.
He was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church. He
was formerly of New Caney and was a Bay City resident for two years.
Survivors include his wife, Nelda Thompson of Bay
City; father, Ray Thompson of Cut and Shoot; three daughters, Amy,
Stefanie and Crystal Thompson, all of Bay City; two sons, Bryan and
Scott Thompson, all of Bay City, two sons, Bryan and Scott Thompson,
both of Bay City; two sister, Polly Farrell of Bay City and Betty Foster
of Cleveland and four brothers, Robert Thompson of Houston, Bobby
Thompson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tracy and Michael Thomson, both of
New Caney.

PALACIOS [Matagorda County, Texas] - O. B. Thompson, 76, of Palacios,
died Saturday, April 24, 2004.
He was born July 8, 1927, in Elgin, to the late Richard Nelson and
Margaret Elizabeth Daniel Thompson. He served in the U.S. Army during
the Korean conflict. He was a retired unit supervisor for Alcoa Aluminum
with 27 years of service and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors: wife, Benita Louise Blackburn Thompson; and sisters, Hazel
Hominick of Corpus Christi, Dorothy Hamlin and Nellie Rockenbaugh, both
of Palacios, and Ann Rogers of Hobbs, N.M.
Preceded in death by: brothers, Fulton Richard Thompson, Gilford
Thompson, Russell Thompson, and Nelson Thompson.
The family will receive visitors 6-8 p.m. tonight at Palacios Funeral
Home chapel.

Ben R. Thorpe, 89, of Bay City died Saturday, June 8, 2002 at his
residence. He was born August 10, 1912 in Helena, Ark. to the late
Robert George and Ella Hamilton Thorpe.
He is survived by his wife: Bessie Thorpe; daughters, Rena Faye
Dickerson of Houston, Sue Ellen Spencer and Dorothy Aline Davidek both
of Harwood, TX and Diana T. Dietrich of Baytown, TX; son: Robert H.
Thorpe of Magnolia, TX; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one
great great grandchild.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bay City Lions
Club, the Wesley Class of the First United Methodist Church, and a
veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at
the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Pauline Harvey, Rev
Horace McMillan, and the Rev. Roy Biser officiating. Interment will
follow at Roselawn Memorial Park . The family received visitors at Taylor

Bessie Aline Thorpe
Feb. 24, 1916 - May 7, 2005
Bessie Aline Thorpe, 89, of Bay City, died May 7,
2005 at her residence.
She was born February 24, 1916, in Nettleton, Arkansas, to the late
Isaac Harrison and Dossie Wrenn Wood.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a resident of
Bay City for the past 51 years.
Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Rena Faye Dickerson of
Houston, Texas, Sue Ella and W.L. Spencer, Dorothy Aline and Stephen
Davidek, all of Harwood, Texas, and Diana Lee and Richard Dietrich of
College Station, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Harrison and
Connie Thorpe of Magnolia, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Robert Thorpe, on
June 8, 2002.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United
Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Young and Rev. Pauline Harvey
officiating.
Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck.
Pallbearers were Trey Dietrich, Robert Thorpe, Gary Spencer, Dennis
Spencer, Steve Davidek, Jr. and Lonnie Davidek.

THUMANN, CARL, SR.
Carl Thumann, Sr., died June 24, 2000 in Bay City. He was born June 9,
1918 in Alice, Texas to Charles and Leona Perkins Thumann.
He is survived by: his wife, Julane Thumann of Bay City; daughters
Carolyn Coker of Bay City, Marie Balmain of Hooks, Texas; son Carl
Thumann, Jr. of Cash, Texas; one step-son Shawn Ferguson of El Campo;
brother Fred H. Thumann of Houston, nine grandchildren and ten great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday June 26, 2000 at Calvary
Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment
followed at Cedarvale Cemetery.
Mr. Thumann was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army, member of
Bay City Post No. 11, The American Legion.

Marion Thomas "Sonny" Thurmond
Marion Thomas "Sonny" Thurmond, 68, of Rosanky, Texas
died August 10, 2001 at Hospice Austin Christopher House in Austin. He
was born April 10, 1933 in Houston to Joseph Harvey and Myrtle Malone
Thurmond.
Sonny was a resident of Rosanky the past 4 years, a former long-time
resident of Bay City, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He grew up in Pledger, attended Boling High School and Wharton Jr.
College. Sonny married Minnie Meador in 1953. He served in the US Army
during the Korean War. Sonny spent most of his life working for
oilfield-related companies including living abroad for many years.
In later years he was a member of Local 2232 as a Millwright. Sonny
loved his animals and being in the country, traveling (especially
flying) and most of all, his family and friends.
Survivors include: wife, Minnie Meador Thurmond of Rosanky; 2 daughters
and a son-in-law, Sheri & David Doguet of Poteet, Texas and Vicki Ray of
Bastrop; son, Marion T. (Tommy) Thurmond, Jr. of Bastrop; mother, Myrtle
Thurmond Parish of Pledger; grandchildren, David Doguet, Jr. and partner
Catrina Figueroa, Daric, Darin and Ashley Doguet all of Poteet, Kristyn
and Kole Ray of Denton, Ty Thurmond of Sweeny, and Whitney Thurmond of
Austin; great granddaughter, Elena Doguet of Poteet; mother-in-law,
Lorene Henry Meador of Bay City; and many close friends and family
members.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Harvey Thurmond in 1963;
step-father, Floyd Parish 1967; and father-in-law, Doyal Meador in 1970.
A funeral service was at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13 at the First United
Methodist Church in Bay City with Rev. Patti Herndon, Pastor of First
United Methodist Church in Bastrop officiating.
Interment followed at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
Pallbearers were David Jr., Daric and Darin Doguet, Kole Ray, Ty
Thurmond, Charles Teutsch, Lynn Quillin and L. M. "Corky" Green.

ROBERT L. TITT
June 29, 1915 - April 2, 2006
Robert L. "Bob" Titt, 90, of Victoria and formerly of Van Vleck passed
away Sunday, April 2, 2006 at the Linwood Place Nursing Home in
Victoria.
He was born in Durango, Colorado on June 29, 1915 to parents, Francis
John "Frank" and Mary Eliza Current Titt. He married Annie Shafer on
August 9, 1940. He served in the United States Navy as a Pharmacist Mate
First Class from 1932 until 1945 and was a veteran of World War II. He
worked as a security guard at the Phillips Petroleum Plant in Old Ocean
before his retirement several years ago.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; sons, Robert Frank Titt and
James William Tate; and a brother, William Harold Titt.
He is survived by: his wife of 65 years, Annie Shafer Titt of Victoria;
a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. and Peggy Titt of Victoria; half
brother, Francis Mark McCarty of Aztec, New Mexico; and seven
grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A visitation was scheduled at Bay City Funeral Home from 4 until 6 p.m.
Tuesday, April 4, 2006. Funeral services will be held at the Bay City
Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 with the Rev.
Jack Hudson officiating.
Pallbearers will include Chris Titt, Rick Baird, Cameron Brooks, Val
Walleck, Bennie Stevens, and Boogie Stevens.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
The family requests that memorials please be given to the Alzheimers

DE JESUS
PALACIOS - Manuel de Jesus Tobias, 75, of Palacios, died Tuesday, Dec.
27, 2005.
He was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Olivia, to the late Julio and Maria Rocha
Tobias. He was a retired master plumber, a veteran of Korean War, U.S.
Army, Private First Class, Corp. of Engineers/COBAT Engineers, former
Matagorda County Constable Pct. No. 3, a member of Trailriders
Association, American Legion, Fraternity of Eagles, and the American G.I.
Forum.
Survivors: wife, Rosalie Martino Tobias; daughter, Mary Bassett of
Palacios, son, Manuel Thomas Tobias and Julio Martin Tobias, both of
Houston; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Clarence Tolleson

“Sam” Tolleson, 75, of Palacios, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005.
He was born July
12, 1930, in Palacios, to the late Thomas Argyle and Lucy Ophelia
Norris Tolleson. He retired from Alcoa and was a heavy crane
operator overseas and at the South Texas Nuclear Project. He was in
the Navy from 1948 to 1951, serving in the Korean War.
Survivors: wife,
Marlene Tolleson; daughters, Lisa Perez of Ganado and Kim Kieler of
Wharton; step-daughter, Sandy Williams of Blessing; son, Jeffrey
Tolleson of Blessing; stepson, James Williams of Blessing; sisters,
Bobbie Brune and Carolyn Mertz, both of Palacios; brother, Billy
Tolleson of Camp Wood; seven grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death
by: sons, Sammy Tolleson and Vincent Tolleson.
Following
cremation, a memorial service will be 2-4 p. m. Saturday, Oct. 9 at
the Blessing Community Center.

Marlene Addie
McDaniel Tolleson, 70, of Tide Water Oaks, passed away Thursday,
January 18, 2007 in Bay City. She was born May 11, 1936 in Fort
Worth, to Frank McDaniel and Ethel Leona Nivens McDaniel. She was a
resident of Matagorda County for the past 65 years, a member of the
Methodist Church and was a retired Store Clerk, and had worked at
Diddies Grocery in Palacios and at the Blessing Store in Blessing.
She is survived
by her daughter, Sandy Williams and son, James Williams of Tide
Water Oaks; by her step children, Kim Keiler of Wharton, Lisa Perez
of Ganado and Jeff Tolleson of Tres-Palacios Oaks; by her sister,
Bertie Lackey of Fort Worth; her brother, Carrol Dean Magee of
Francitas; and by her grandchildren, Ashley Hurta of Victoria and
Jimmy Morgan of Kyle. She was preceded in death by her husbands,
Jimmy Williams and Sam Tolleson; and by her parents, Frank and Ethel
Leona McDaniel.
Funeral services
will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Taylor Bros.
Funeral Home in Bay City. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery
in Blessing.

 Harold Norman Tolson, 65, of Van Vleck, Texas, passed away Friday,
August 19, 2005, in Houston, Texas.
He was born April 17, 1940, in Niagara Falls, New York, to Norman Tolson
and Brenda Marie Neal Tolson.
He was a resident of Matagorda County since 1974, a U.S. Navy veteran
and was a retired farm implement salesman.
He is survived by: his wife, Wanda Tolson of Van Vleck; his sons,
Darrell Tolson of Bay City, Gale Tolson of Jonestown, and Kyle Tolson of
Van Vleck; his sister, Mary Linda Scott of San Antonio; sister-in-law,
Anna Tolson of Denton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and
numerous foster children.
His parents, Norman and Brenda Tolson, and his brother, Ronald Tolson,
preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Taylor
Bros. Funeral Home, with the Rev. LeRoy Cunningham, Jr. officiating.
Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
Pallbearers were Charles Boren, Richard Anderson, Mike Stone, Billy
Mayfield, Rick Zarate, and Mikeal McCloskey.

TONE, CHARLES "CHARLIE"
 Funeral services for Charles "Charlie" Tone, 70, of Bay City,
will be held Saturday, April 7, 2001, at 2 p.m., at Enterprise Baptist
Church in Bay City, with the Rev. J. Weldon Gilbert, pastor, and the
Rev. L. V. Harvey, eulogist. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery in
Bay City. Visitation will be Friday until 9 p.m. in the chapel of
Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.
He was born in Cedar Lane, Saturday, September 20, 1930, to Eddie Tone
and Letha Mills Tone, and passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at Sea
Breeze Health Care Center in Bay City.
He was a veteran in the U. S. Army, having served in the Korean War. He
also was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
"Charlie" was a humble individual. He was like the man by the
side of the road, and was a friend to man. His good deeds will be missed
in this community, and will live as a memorial of the life he shared
with God and man.
Survivors include: his wife of 43 years, Edna Tone of Bay City; two
daughters, Charlene Godley and Marcellous, Jr. of Bay City, and
Elizabeth Meurer and James of Kalamazoo, Michigan; two grandchildren,
Marcellous Godley, III, and Jakequlynn Cleveland, and one
great-granddaughter, JaBrianne Cleveland; three sisters, Ethel Mae Tone,
Veola Tone and Doris Tone, all of Bay City; one brother, Edward Tone and
Stella of Cedar Lane; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Carlton Brooks, Herman Brooks, John Brooks,
Tyronne Cooper, Ernest Davidson, Carl Green, Charles Green, Dennis
Griggs, Kenneth Love and Victor Sanford.

TRESSELT, ERNIE
Ernie Tresselt, 72, of Palacios, passed away Wednesday, December 29,
2004.
He was born September 29, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Ernest Charles
Tresselt and Teresa Marie Clare Tresselt.
He was a retired production supervisor from Celanese Chemical Co.,
attended the Methodist Church, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member
of the American Legion Post 649 of Blessing and a member of the
Fraternal Order of Eagles, Erie No. 3821 of Palacios.
He is survived by: his wife, Marilyn Tresselt of Palacios; his children,
Charlie Tresselt of Missouri City, Steve Tresselt of Palacios, Tommy
Tresselt of Tres-Palacios Oaks, Cindy Tresselt Jette of Portland, Ricky
Tresselt of Columbia, Missouri, Cathy Tresselt Rector of Lolita and
Jennifer Tresselt Cruse of Francitas; his step-children, Craig Allen
Mills of Branson, Missouri, Rae Lynn Mills Longoria of Blessing, and Pat
Mills of Spring; and by eight grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren,
two great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Teresa Clare
Tresselt; his step-son, Ronnie Mills; and by his sister, Teresa Marie
Tresselt.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2005 at the
Palacios Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Wells officiating.
Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.
Pallbearers will be Cory Helms, Casey Rector, Dustin Tresselt, Steven
Walleck, Robert Rector and Jack Jette.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles,

Denver E. Tweedle, 56, of Bay City died Sunday March 11, 2001 in Bay
City. He was born March 25, 1944 in Palacios, Texas to the late W. D.
Tweedle and Claudell Knapp.
He is survived by: his mother and step father, James and Claudell Knapp
Tweedle Covey of Bay City; daughters and son-in-law, Edmund and Tonya
Proctor of New Mexico; sisters and brothers-in-law, Claudia and Milton
Jarrell, Nora Stephens, and Peggy and Russell Cram all of Bay City;
brother, Raymond D. Tweedle of Bay City; two grandchildren, Nicole Oros
of Bay City and Dylan Chapman of Houston; by a number of nieces and
nephews. He is preceded in death by his ex-wife Carolyn Jones and niece,
Belinda Sellers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2001 in
the chapel of Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Interment will follow at
Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers include, Jody Simmons, Robbie Stuart,
Earl Stephens, Jr., Billy Reeder, Jesse Longoria, and Stephen Fair.

Tweedle, and Donny Tweedle. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, a member
of the V.F.W. and an avid fisherman and bowler.
