Marine From Sweeny Killed In Viet War

Funeral services are pending at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home for a Sweeny Marine killed in action in South Vietnam Dec. 21.

Lance Cpl. Rockne Lamar Hardwick, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle P. Hardwick of 203 Filmore St., Sweeny, died aboard a helicopter while serving with the 3^rd Marine Division near Da Nang.

Hardwick graduated from Sweeny High School in 1967 and attended Wharton County Junior College before entering the Marine Corps. He was an only child.

Services are pending the arrival of the body from Vietnam.
