Whereas, Bois d'Arc Common School District of Rains County, has been by this Board abolished and the school therein discontinued; and Whereas the buildings now standing on the land herein described were erected by said School District and a lot was purchased from Francis Lynch for school purposes; Whereas said buildings are needed by said Bois d'Arc Community for religious and community purposes; ordered that deed of conveyance of said property be executed to said trustees in trust for said community. Be it further resolved that Jim McBride, President of the County Board of School Trustees, and Arthur Jones, Secretary to said Board, be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute a deed of conveyance, conveying the property to said trustees above named.

Beginning at the S.E. corner of the block of said original survey; Thence north with the east line of said original survey,
75-1/10 varas for a corner; Thence west 75-1/10 varas for a corner; Thence south 150-2/10 varas for a corner;
Thence east 75-1/10 varas for a corner in the east line of said original survey; Thence north 75-1/10 varas with said east line to the place of beginning, containing 2 acres of land, more or less. Above land being the same land sold by Frances Lynch to James A. Boyd, County Judge of Rains County, Texas, dated 8 December 1896 and recorded in volume 12, page 635 of Deed Records, Rains County, Texas.Now, Therefore, we, the County Board of School Trustees of Rains County, Texas, do hereby authorize the sale of said lot, together with the buildings thereon to the said the Bois d'Arc Community for and in consideration of the sum of $1 cash; and Whereas said Community has designated R.M. Reding, Raymond Weatherford and A.J. Butler as trustees, to take title of said property in trust for said Bois d'Arc Community. (Rains County Deed Records, volume 121, page 591)


Bois d'Arc School District #6 was abolished April 1951 (Rains County Deed Records, vol. 121/pg. 591) The old school building was torn down about 1953.
