Center Point School was located in the southeastern part of present day Rains County.

The school district was established in May 1898 upon written petition of the qualified voters of the districts.

June 1898 trustees elected
W.G. Gore
C.H. Herriage
J.H. Whitwell

April 1899 trustees elected
A.E. Sparks
M.W. Trumble
H.P. Campbell

District was organized as District Number 5. C. L. Hamrick, E. R. Flewellan, A. E. Sparks were appointed to hold an election for the purpose of electing trustees for said district.

Miss Eula Caton of Mineola came in last Saturday morning to take charge of the school at Center Point school house.
 

After the 1920s, District Number 5 was known as Bellview School District. The area described as the Center Point district became Richland School District.
