McClain Cemetery

This cemetery is on private property.  From Groveton, take State Highway 94 east 9.4 miles, turn left on Farm to Market road 358, one mile to Farm to Market road 211, then 2.3 miles on a county road. Turn right, go. 0.7 miles, turn right on a dirt road & go 0.3 miles to top of a hill & the cemetery & about 75 yards away & down the hill is a small family group.

J. A. McClain designed one acre of his land for the cemetery. His great-great-grandson, T. P. Walton read the tombstones for the 1992 edition of the Trinity County Cemeteries.

For the compiled list, both Trinity County Cemeteries ©1980 and the second edition Trinity County Texas Cemeteries © 1992 both published by Trinity County Historical Commission (TCHC) were consulted. The cemetery information was compiled on 20 June 2002 by TCHC Cemetery Committee Members: This cemetery has not been physically checked for the 2002 cemeteries’ survey, however Letty Harrington's TxGenWeb Tombstone Project was consulted to compile the list.
