Obituary of Catherine VanDenElzen Binon - October 18, 1972

Mrs. Catherine Binon, 98, formerly of 1002 George St., De Pere, died Wednesday evening in  a local nursing home after a one-month illness.  The former Catherine VanDenElzen was born in the town of Rockland Sept. 14, 1874 and married Denis Binon in 1894.  The couple farmed in the Town of DePere until they took up residence in the City of DePere in 1932.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1946 and also by one son, Neal, and one daughter, Mrs. Amos (Mathilda) St. Auben.

Survivors are five sons, Henry and Alfred, both of Milwaukee, Joseph, Pulcifer; Bernard, Crivitz; Bill, Lena; five daughters, Mrs Edward (Louise) Matzke and Mrs. Grover (Nora) Le Mere, both of Green Bay; Mrs. John (Viola) DeCleene, Appleton; Mrs. Arthur (Clara) Butler, Land'O'Lakes; Mrs. Louis (Frances) Willems, DePere; 35 grandchildren; 122 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

At Ryan Funeral Home, DePere, after 2 p.m. Friday.  Wake service at 7 Friday evening.  Funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday, St. Mary Church, with the Reverend Raymond Heitpass officiating.  Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery."
