Obituary of Dewey Decker - August 25, 1982

Dewey E Decker...died early this morning in a local hospital.  He was born Apr.22 1989 in Green Bay to the late Henry and Lydia Decker.  He was a graduate of West High School in 1916.  He enlisted in the US Navy in November, 1917 and served on the US transport ship USS Santa Barbara and made 4 round trips to France.  E married Agnes Matzke on Oct 7, 1919,...Mr Decker was employed by the Chicago and North Western Railroad for 42 years, switchman for 34 years and yardmaster for 8 years.  He retired in 1961 and conducted a reupholstry business at home for 21 years.  Mr. Decker served for 8 years on the Green Bay City Council and the last two years as vice mayor.  Survivors include his wife, Agnes, three sons, Dewey Decker,  Ellison C Decker, Melvin J. Decker, one sister, Mrs. Harry (Laona) Wood..Funeral ...at Annunciation Church...Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
