Obituary of Wilbur P. Matzke - December 21, 1993

Wilbur P. Matzke, 83, formerly of 1312 Guns Rd. died Tuesday morning, Dec 21, 1993 at a local nursing home.  He was born March 3, 1910 on the town of DePere to the late Phillip and Elizabeth (Rauchenbach) Matzke.  Wilbur married the former Victoria M. Nowak in 1934.  She preceded him in death in 1966.  He married Enid VandenHuevel Sept 12, 1969 at St. Phillip Church.  Wilbur was a self employed carpenter in the Green Bay area for many years.  He was a member of Carpenters Local 1146.  Wilbur was a charter member of St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church and was also an usher at the church. 

Survivors include his wife, Enid, two daughters and one son-in-law Learandra and Chris Bournelis, Elizabeth (Betty) Heiser, all of Green Bay, two step children and their spouses, Earl and Kathy VanDen Huevel, Green Bay, Cheryl and Tom Laninga, Bellflower, Calif.  11 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, six step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters in law, Carl Matzke and friend Stella DeGroot, DePere, William and Doretta (Dot) Matzke, DePere, Lucille Matzke, DePere.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Hileman, one step son, Thomas Vanden Huevel, one sister, Eleanor, seven brothers, Art, Ed, Frank, Sylvester, Joe, Lawerence, and Phillip Matzke.  Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home 1630 E. Mason St, from 3 to 8 p.m. today and prior to the funeral on Thursday.  Prayer service at 7 pm today.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Thursday at St Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Canavera officiating.  Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
