 News & Notes

 2004

News and Notes....  We have the logging memorial dedication.  It will be 2 horses pulling a sleigh of logs and is approx 26' X 7'.  The school bell is in place as well as a walking trail so it looks very different from the current picture (below - will be updated soon).

June 19 memorial dedication of a park bench to Paul Elbe (he dismantled to log home and rebuilt it where it stands) from the Paul Elbe donation, July 3 logging memorial to honor our forefathers, and July 10 memorial
dedication of a park bench from the Edward Palmer donation.  In August we will be presenting "railroads" in Mountain, the past.  We have an exciting summer to look forward to....

Here We Are!

Society Mission Statement & Goals

The mission statement of the Society is to promote and preserve the heritage of Mountain.  We feel education of the children is very important, as many do not have the option of listening to Grandpa or Grandma tell of their past.  We are looking for any items that can be donated to the Society for use in education.

You can Email me (Deb) and I will help in making
arrangements to send or pick the items up.  I am very excited about our venture. Being a newly formed Society we have come a long way and see nothing but positive progress for the Mountain area.  Please let me know if we can help you in any way!  Deb
