"ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VIRGINIA LAND GRANTS SURVEYOR’S
BOOK 1 PART 1 1744 -1755" Abstracted and Compiled by Chester R. Johnson,
Hurst, Texas 1997 e-mail cjohnson@fastlane.net

The deed books of Albemarle County, Virginia, from 1752 through 1757,
have been lost. This gap may be partially filled by the Surveyor’s plats
of grants made during that time. More than 1500 grants were surveyed
between 1744 and 1755. These surveys have been abstracted and include the
name of the person for whom the plat was surveyed, the date of the survey,
the number of acres, all water courses, mountains and roads, and the names
of any neighbors at the time the survey was made. Some have notes that
show sale or transfer of title to other persons. This book provides an
index for the survey microfilms which are not indexed. These films may be
obtained by Inter-Library Loan from the State Library of Virginia.

Loose-leaf $25.00 Soft bound $30.00 Price includes postage and handling.
TX residents add 8.25% tax.
