I am looking for information on Arthur Franklin MILLS, who was born in Augusta County in 1892. His son, Charles Hollis MILLS was my grandfather, but he died in 1947 and I have no way of gaining any knowledge of my families history. If anyone could help me I would very much appreciate it. I found a Benjamin A CAMPBELL that married around the same time frame in Madison Co,KY and he was born in Augusta Co,VA in 1766. Hoping this might be the lead I need on Thomas CAMPBELL. Would like information on Archibald MURRAY and Sarah FULTON MURRAY. Archibald Murray was born c1760 d. 1830, not sure of Sarah's dates. They were married in Augusta CO VA in 1792. Sarah was the daughter of Hugh Fulton. They moved to Meigs Co OH in 1806.

I am from the Indiana branch of the JORDAN family and we have had no knowledge of what happened to the JORDAN family that stayed in Virginia. I have found two referances to the name in Augusta County (Va Wills and Administrations MCDANIEL Augusta Co Bryan Sr. 1758) and (Chalkley Chronicles, Bryan MCDANIEL appointed road overseer from Fort William to the Market Road 1764.) I have been looking mostly in Montgomery County for the parents of Anthony MCDANIEL (MCDONALD) (he has used both names) b 1814. Family records list his father as Bryant McDaniel m Catherine Unknown. I Know that a number of families from the Scotch- Irish Settlement in Augusta County migrated to Montgomery County.

I am looking for more information about the ancestors of the followign people: Elizabeth CRAWFORD (m. George ANDERSON), who died abt. 1788 in Middle River, Augusta Co, VA. George ANDERSON (m. Elizabeth CRAWFORD), who was born abt. 1710 and died in 1788. He must have lived in Augusta Co. at some point (I don't know if he was born there) because at least one of his children was born there. Margaret Jean ANDERSON (Anderson was her married name; I don't know her maiden name), who was born abt. 1695 in Scotland and who died Feb, 1764, in Augusta Co. Margaret Jean was George's mother. Martha ANDERSON, (m. Henry DOOLEY in Orange Co, VA, in 1735), who was born in either 1715 or 1720 in Augusta Co, VA, and died in 1788 in Bedford Co, VA. Caleb W STEPHENS served as a male nurse from 1861-1864 in the Army Hospital in Staunton, Va. He was a private in Confederate army. Co C, 19th Ga regiment and served in the Hospital after being sick and unable to serve in the field activities. He surrendered with his unit at Greensborro, NC in April 1865 at the close of the War. He was a resident of Campbell County, Ga. (now South Fulton). Later he drew a confederate pension in DeKalb County, GA. Does anyone no how to find detail information of Civil War Conederate service persons that were in this hospital. Is there a history of this hospital? Thanks for any help.

Seeking to share information with other researchers of the family of Adam PATTERSON, b. 1774 in Augusta County, Virginia — d. 1855 in Licking County, Ohio. Adam was married three times. First, to Sophia JONES in 1796 in Augusta County. Two daughters were born to this marriage, Elizabeth and Lydia. Sophia died about 1804 and in November 1805, Adam married Rebecca MOORE, b. about 1789 in Augusta County. A son Ephraim and daughter Rebecca were born to this marriage. Adam PATTERSON and Rebecca MOORE were one of the pioneer Augusta families moving to Licking County in 1810. Rebecca died about 1821 and Adam married for a third time, to Anne CROWE in Licking County. This marriage produced seven children: Lurinda, Melinda, Matilda, Jurdan, Cordelia, Addison, and Maria. I would like to share information with others researching this family.

I am searching for information on George BARBER and his wife Elizabeth MOORE. George was born in England around 1700 and died in Augusta County in 1745. Elizabeth may have been born in Augusta County and left after George died to move to North Carolina, possibly with her new husband Mr. Patton. George and Elizabeth's children were Sarah, Pli(y)er, George Jr., John and William. John and William both appear in land records in NC by 1796, near Anson County. Chances are they migrated to Wilkes County NC with their mother and step-father since they were only in the early teens when George died. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
