In the name of God Amen. I, William Clayton of the
county of Brunswick and Parish of St. Andrew's being sick of boddy but in sound
memroy do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner following to
wit. Item my will and desire is that all my just debts should be just paid and
then my will and desire is that my hole estate both land , Negros and everything
else should be equally divided between my five children: Anneliza Clayton,
Robert Clayton, Richard Clayton, Edward Clayton, and William Clayton. My will
and desire is that every thing should be kept together and a crop made for the
present year and at the expiration of the present year my will and desire is
that my executor should have it in his power to seel lmy land and negroes and
everything else belonging to my estate or is do what every he may think will be
most profitable for the benefit of the children. I do appoint Richard Clayton my
executor to the present will and a guardian for all my children before witness
this the tenth day of January 1815.
