Will of William Lewis

In the manner of God, Amen, I William Lewis of the County of Brunswick and state of Virginia, being of sound mind and memory, and calling to recollection the uncertainty of this transitory life doe make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, Viz., My will and desire is that a part of my land be sold running the line between the spring and the house where Ruel Lewis now lives, on the hill all to the sturgeon creek. W, I lend to my loving wife Martha Lewis, all my estate both real and personal during her life, after paying my last debts, and after her death, the balance of my land divided between my three sons, Ruel, James & Hiram Lewis and at my wife's death the balance of my estate to be sold and equally divided amongst all children, except Michael Maldrin who has had his full part given him before the date herein written, I leave my friend, Joshua Lucy to execute this my last will and testatment, hereby revoking and annulling all wills heretofore by me made-In testimoney whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this sixth day of February in the year of our lord 1823.
