DEED: May 6, 1773 James HARRIS of Chesterfield Co. to Thos. HARRIS of Cumberland Co.

This Indenture is made this Sixth day of May in the year of Christ One Thousand Seven Hundred and seventy three Between James HARRIS of Chesterfield Co on the one part and Thos. HARRIS of Cumberland Co. on the other part. Witness that the said James HARRIS for and in consideration of the sum of eighty pounds current money to him in hand paid by the said Thos. HARRIS the receipt of whereof he doth hereby acknowledge the said James HARRIS hath bargained and sold and by these presents Doth bargain and sell unto the said Thomas HARRIS and to his Heirs forever one certain Tract or Parcel of Land situate adjoining to the Lands of the said Thomas HARRIS containing Ninety Six acres of Land more or less and bounded by the known ancient and refuted bounds thereof being the Lands purchased by the James' Father of the GODSEY (Land purchased by James Harris' father from a GODSEY?) With all and singular the appurtenances to the same belonging. To have and to hold the said bargained and sold premises to the said Thomas HARRIS, his Heirs and assigns forever. And the said James HARRIS doth by these present promise to warrant and defend the said Lands to him the said Thomas HARRIS against the claim of all persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof he had set his hand and Seal the say above mentioned.
