This Indenture made this seventh day of November One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty Seven Between John HOWARD of the County of Powhatan of the one part and James SMITH of the County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John HOWARD for and in consideration the sum of Fifty Five pounds twelve shillings and six pence to him in had paid, Hath bargained sold and confirms unto the said James SMITH one certain tract or parcel of land containing Forty four and a half acres be the same more or less lying and being in the County of Chesterfield and bounded as follows (Viz:
Beginning a a corner Hickory on the County line ......moving thence on the County line South forty nine Deg, West one hundred and fourteen poles to a corner pine. Thence running or HARRIS's line South Twenty seven degrees East ninety six poles to a Corner pine on GODSEY'S line. Thence running on the said GODSEY's line North twenty three degrees, East One hundred and nineteen poles to a corner Black Oak on LANDRUM's line. Thence running on the said LANDRUM's line North seven degrees West fifty seven poles to the beginning. The above sold forty four and a half acres of Land be the sum more or less with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining. The said John HOWARD doth Warrant and insure with good and lawful Right and Title to the said forty four and half acres of land unto the said James SMITH his Heir's, Executors, Administrators and assigns. The said John HOWARD doth bind himself his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and assignes. In Witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and year above Written.
