CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VIRGINIA     Deed Book 18, page 51, 52


This Indenture made and entered into this twenty fourth day of January
eighteen hundred and nine; Between John Snellings Senr. & Sarah his
wife, of the one part and Thomas Snellings of the second part, all of
the county of Chesterfield.  Witnefseth that the said John Snellings &
Sarah his wife hath for the consideration of the sum of two hundred &
eighteen pounds to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, hath bargained, and sold and by these doth absolutely
bargain and sell in fee simple unto the aforesaid Thomas Snellings one
certain tract or parcel of land containing by an estimation one hundred
and nine acres be the same more or lefs, reserving the use thereof to
the said John Snellings and Sarah his wife during life and no
longer)lying and being in the county aforesaid and bounded as follows by
the lands lately deeded to John Snellings Jr., the lands of Joel
Cheatham, Josiah Cheatham Este, Phineas Clay and the lands lately deeded
to Jefse Snellings; with all and every of its rights and titles in any
wise appertaining to the same (reserving the use as aforesaid) to the
said Thomas Snellings and to his heirs to their only proper use and
emoluments forever-And the said John Snellings and Sarah his wife doth
covenant for themselves their heirs [?] to and with the said Thomas
Snellings, to warrant the above premises unto the said Thomas Snellings
& his heirs against the claim property and demand of all & every other
person or persons whatsoever (reserving the use as aforesaid) In
testimony whereof the parties have affixed their seals the day and year
above written
