THOMAS CAMP*

Thomas Camp, June 15, 1818, Southampton Co., Va.; of said county, age 61 declares he enlisted in 1777 in Gloucester Co., Va., in the Company of Capt. Philip Taliaferro of the 2nd Va. Reg. and served in that regiment under Capts. Minor, Meacham, Boswell and Nathaniel Welch until the expiration of three years when he was discharged in Williamsburg. He was a private. He married in Jan. 1789 in Southampton Co., Va., to Martha Webster, age 73 (deposition dated May 20, 1845) and he died in Oct. 1825 in Southampton Co. Va. His widow later removed to Halifax Co., N. C., W. 3938 Pension Applications. (National Archives).
