CHRISTOPHER GARLAND*

While resident in Gloucester Co., Va., he served as private and Lt., part of the time in Capt. Ballard's Va. Co. I, and he stated that he was in the battle of Bunker Hill, Brandywine and served until after the Battle of Yorktown. Garland m. in Mathews Co., on Oct. 13, 1804, Virginia Mary Jarvis. He. d. Jan. 20, 1812, in Gloucester Co. His widow was allowed BW on her application executed June 9,1855, age 85 and a resident of Gloucester. Issue: Robert C., Permillia m. Clopton; Mary O. m. Neil; Mildred m. Kidd; Christopher, Jr.; Sarah m. Chowning; Elizabeth m. Glenn; Judith m. Brooking (Pen. Va. R. 3915).
