Patrick J. Booth married in Lunenburg Co., VA 12 Nov 1824 by Rev. William Richards to Mary Smith Saunders (Polly) 1806 - daughter of Robert Saunders

Patrick and Polly S. Booth were received into the old Meherrin Baptist Church (1771-1844) and baptized by Rev. Silas
Shelborne in November 1831. In July 1834, Patrick Booth was appointed to the office of Clerk, Pro Tem when Roderick R. Gregory resigned the office. In January 1837 "Brother Booth, Brother Ro. Saunders Sr. & Bro. Ro. Saunders Jr." requested letters of dismission from the church, joining the numerous dissenters. [Meherrin Church Minutes]


By 1850, Patrick Booth and family were living in Charlotte County, where he died in 1853. In the household 1850 census were children Milton to the youngest, all born Mecklenburg.  Robert W. Booth, 25, born Halifax (an error?), was a clerk with Hillery M. L. Goode, merchant.
