1980 From the files of Fran Laird The following is a copy of a newspaper clipping published at the time of William E. Williams' death: "Died at his home near Conway, Laclede Co., MO, in the 83rd year of his age, of senile delbility, Wm. Williams on Friday Feb. 7, 1899. Mr. Williams was born in Lunenburg Co., VA in 1816 -- in 1837 with Thomas Gregory he moved to Missouri making the trip by wagon and settled on a farm close to the present Campbelton P.O. here he resided until 1884 when with his family he moved to Lacelede Co.

Phillip married 2nd Martha L. Whitehead, widow.
Family letter of 1857 says Philip was soon to marry a widow Whitehead. Maybe date was not clear, as records of Fran Laird show "20 Mar. 1855, Charlotte Co., VA, Philip Goode Eubank married Frances L. Whitehead (widow)." It has come to light that widow Martha P. Eubank at Philip's death was likely Martha P. (nee LEE dau. of Thomas2 LEE Cheatham,whom he married 3rd? sometime after 1866 when Branch Cheatham died.[Luneburg Death Register]
