I MARY FISHER of the COUNTY OF LUNENBURG and the STATE OF VIRGINIA do appoint my son JAMES FISHER my power of attorney to handle and settle all my ??? to have the plantation well managed as long as I may live and as a reward for his work and attention I do hereby give him liberty (he and his family if he think proper to marry) to live with me to work his negroes with mine to work stock on my land if any should be made from the plantation more than a decent support for myself the whole be his that he shall not account for anything which may be made or pay board to any of the other legatees of my estate and at my death I give to my son JAMES FISHER all of my estate which I may deem proper both real and personal to him and his heirs forever Given my hand and seal this 1st day of January 1821

ANNEXED WILL OF MARY FISHER

25 FEBRUARY 1829...LUNENBURG COUNTY VIRGINIA

I MARY FISHER of the said county having put my legal line by mark to a certain instrument of writing presented to me by my son JAMES FISHER the contents of which was and is unknown to me but fearing it to be a will do this instrument as my last will and testament hereby revoking all the will whatsoever I wish all my money and property of every description to be equally divided among my children and grandchildren and wish one equal part (that would be MARTHA PURYEAR) to go to her son ROBERT PURYEAR and (one part that would be SALLY HARRISON) to go to her son WILLIAM SMITH. In testimony as presented I have given my hand and affexed my seal this 25 day of February 1829

1839-015 CHANCERY COURT CASE LUNENBURG VIRGINIA names HEIRS TO WILLIAM and MARY FISHER

In Lunenburg County Court November , December 1829 the last will and testament of MARY FISHER deceased was presented in court and proved by the oath of Samuel Daly a witness there unto and as to personal estate ordered to be recorded and it appearing to the court that the testate departed this life more than three months and no person having applied for letter of administration on her estate It is ordered that the administration of her estate with her will annexed be committed to JOHN BLACKWELL sheriff of this county and in the said county court 14th Dec 1829 ordered that the order of last court concerning the estate of MARY FISHER deceased to the hands of JOHN BLACKWELL sheriff of this county for administration to be presented and on the motion of THOMAS D . FISHER who made oath and together with JAMES FISHER his security entered into and acknowledged a bond in penalty of one thousand dollars as the law requires certificate is granted to him for obtaining letters of administration on the said estate with her will annexed.
