Argelon Toone (George; John Lewis; Lewis; Mark) was born about 1819 in
Mecklenburg, Virginia, he married in 1845 Frances E. Toon (John; John Lewis;
Lewis; Mark). The first time I find them together on census records is in 1850
Giles County Tennessee household number 682-907, in home of Argelon's parents
George 60 (born in Virginia) and Ann 60 (born in Virginia). Argelon is listed on
the 1850 record as being 31 and born in Virginia, Frances E.J. is listed as 25
and born in Virginia, also listed are their two children Virginia Ann 4 (1846
Tennessee) and John William 2 (1848 Tennessee). Argelon and Frances would have a
daughter Perlinia Ellen in 1857, and she would marry Abner Ira Holland. Abner
and Perlinia had four children: Mary Lee Holland born 1877 married Asa
Tillman Daly; Pearlie Holland born 1881 married Ammie Hardiman; Thomas E.
Holland born 1885 married Lula Mae Houchin; and Grady Holland born 1888 married
Ellen Gowen. Argeleon and Frances also had a son Jeff born in 1862 in Limestone
County, the last I have of him is in 1880 in the home with his sister Perlinia
and husband Abner Holland.
Mary Ann Toone (George, John Lewis, Lewis,
Mark) (sister to Argelon) born 1816 in Mecklenburg, Virginia married 8th of
October 1844 in Limestone County Alabama, (as his third wife), William L.
Rochelle born 1804 Virginia. William L. had nine children by two earlier
marriages; he and Mary Ann had six together. Mary Ann and William's daughter
Julia born 1853 married Joseph "Joe" Daly in 1872 in Giles County Tennessee.
William Toone (George, John Lewis, Lewis, Mark) (brother to Argelon) married
first, Rachel Bailes (of Wiley Bailes and Polly Lindwell) on the 16th October
1846 in Limestone County Alabama, they would have two children. William married
the second time Sarah Rochelle (of William L. Rochelle and his first wife
thought to be Bathina Williamson), they would have five known children and most
of his family settled in Oklahoma.
