Personally appeared before me, AFST QUARTERMASTER, PRIVATE J. D. DAVIS,
Co G 59 Reg't Va. Vols., and made oath that he is without desertion,
roll, or final abatement, which it is impossible to obtain from his
commanding officer, for the reason that his company is not IN THE FIELD
that the above account amounting to FORTY THREE 20/100 Dollars, is
correct, that he is not in debt to the Confederate States, and that he
will present a statement of this payment to his commanding officer.
