Claypole Cemetery

Located near the junction of Rt's 647 & 831 on Big A Mtn., near the head of Claypole Branch. From Honaker, go out Rt. 80 up Big A Mtn. and turn left on Rt. 620. Go about a mile and turn left on Rt. 647. Follow Rt. 647 until it forks and turn right on Rt. 831. A couple hundred feet up the road, off the right is an old dirt road with a gate accross the entrance. Follow the dirt road around hillside until you come to a hayfield & the cemetery is at the other end of the hayfield. Cemetery is badly overgrown. One headstone was lying face down and could not be moved & there may have been other stones that weren't located due to heavy overgrowth. There were also several sunken graves that were unmarked and a few field stones.
