This Indenture made this 2d(?) day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five, between Jacob Blair jr and Jane his wife and Benjamin Blair and Milly his wife of the County of Russell and State of Virginia of the one part and Daniel Sutherland of the same county and state of the other part, Witnesseth, That the said Jacob Blair jr and Jane his wife and Benjamin Blair and Milly his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar current money of the United States to them in hand paid this receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and also in compliance with a(?) decree of the Circuit Superior Court of same and Chancery of Russell County pronounced on the 21st day of September 1843, in a ? chancery therein depending between the said Daniel Sutherland Complainant and Jacob Blaire senior and sons? Jacob Blair jr. and Benjamin Blair, Defendant, do grant bargain and sell unto the said Daniel Sutherland, a certain tract or parcel of land containing by estimation fifty acres to the same more or less, lying and being in the said County of Russell and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at the mouth of Jasper Miller Creek where it empites into Clinch River, thence up the river according to its meanders to a cliff of rocks, thence with John Counts line to the foot of a cedar hill, thence a south course and with Ephraim Kizers line to the beginning, being the same tract of land which was conveyed to the said Jacob Blair jr and Benjamin Blair by the said Jacob Blair snr by deed leasing date the 30th day of January 1837. With all its appertanances, To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all its appertunances and behalf of him the said Daniel Sutherland and his heirs forever. And the said Jacob Blair jr and Jane his wife and Benjamin Blair and Milly his wife for themselves and their heirs do covenant with the said Daniel Sutherland and his heirs, that they the said Jacob Blair jr and Jane his wife and Benjamin Blair and Milly his wife and their heirs, the said tract or parcel of land with all its appertenances unto the said Daniel Sutherland and his heirs, against the claim of all persons whomsover, shall warrant and will forever defend. In Witnessth whereof the said Jacob Blair jr and Jane his wife and Benjamin Blair and Milly his wife have hereunto subscribed their names and each affixed their seals the day and year first above written

This Indenture of bargain and sale from Jacob Blair jr and Jane his wife and Benjamin Blair and Milly his wife to Daniel Sutherland was acknowledged before me in the Clerk's office of Russell County on the 2d(?) day of May 1845 by the said Jacob Blair to be his act and deed, and ? him, admitted to record.
